SPA Delhi PhD Courses & Fees 2025: Eligibility, Selection, How to Apply

The SPA Delhi PhD program is offered in both full-time and part-time modes. Under the full-time program, a candidate is expected to finish the program within a period of five years from the date of registration, while in the case of the part-time program, the maximum period is seven years.

Moreover, students enrolled in the full-time PhD program get the chance to assist in the academic activities of the department. As per the official brochure, some of the fields popular among PhD scholars at SPA Delhi are Urban Governance, Participation, Climate Change, Resilience.

SPA Delhi PhD admissions are subject to fulfilment of the eligibility criteria. In order to get admission, students are required to apply along with a proposed department of study, a broad area of research, and the name of the advisor of his/her choice (if any). Moreover, students must also fulfill the following minimum qualifications:

Eligibility:

• Master’s degree in relevant field or its equivalent conducted by any other recognized university/institutions with a minimum of 60 per cent aggregate marks, or
• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture/Planning/Civil Engineering or its equivalent conducted by any recognised university/institution with a minimum of aggregate 80% or 8.0 GPA and minimum three years’ experience (relevant to the proposed topic) in teaching/research/professional practice, or
• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture/Planning/Civil Engineering or its equivalent conducted by any recognized university/Institution with a minimum of aggregate 60% or equivalent grade and minimum ten years’ experience (relevant to the proposed topic) in teaching/research/professional practice, or
• Master’s Degree in allied disciplines, as decided by the respective Departmental Research Committee (DRC) on case-by-case basis, relevant to different streams offered in this School by various departments, with a minimum of 60% and minimum 10 years’ experience (relevant to the proposed PhD topic) in teaching/research/professional practice

SPA Delhi PhD Fees 2025

For admission to SPA Delhi courses, students must pay various fee components included in the SPA Delhi fee structure. Some of these components are to be paid once, such as a one-time fee, and some are to be paid semester-wise, such as tuition fees. The total tuition fee to be paid for the PhD is INR 80,000. Moreover, at the time of admission, students are also required to pay INR 3,500 as a one-time fee.
