Kalyani University admission to most of the courses are offered via scores of various state/ national-level entrance exams. However, the university does not conduct any entrance exams on its own, but it accepts a few state/ national-level entrances conducted by West Bengal state. These include WBJEE, WB JECA, WB JEMAT, CAT, MAT, GATE, etc., for admission to BTech, MCA, MBA and M.Tech programmes. As per the NIRF report 2024, out of 188 BTech graduates 110 were placed in 2023 placements. Further, 467out of 2,245 PG (2-year) and 16 out of 34 Integrated PG students were placed. Looking at the past three years' data, an improving trend was observed in the number of BTech, PG-Integrated students placed. On the other hand, the number of PG (2-year) students placed has been fluctuating. Kalyani University admissions are both merit and entrance-based for respective UG and PG courses. For a few UG courses such as B.Ed, BSc, MA, etc., admissions are offered based on candidates' merit scores obtained in their previous qualifying exam. Kalyani University offers BTech specialisations through WBJEE exam. Generally, candidates need to pass their 10+2 to be eligible for WBJEE and to get into the university. • Should have secured a minimum of 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD candidates) as an aggregate of three subjects in the qualifying exam.
• Must have passed in English in 10+2th standard (or equivalent) exam with at least 30% marks.
• The qualifying examination board should be recognised by the Central or State Government.
