It has affordable education with strong academics but limited industry exposure.

Placements: Lucknow University does not provide a specific placement percentage for linguistics as the course has limited job opportunities so I don't exactly know accurately, but I think it is less than 20%. To pursue a career in linguistics, we would have to do an M.A., PhD, or a Diploma to get a job, for example doing an MA and preparing for UGC NET.

Infrastructure: The campus is big, clean, and beautiful with all the greenery and park. I really like how peaceful it is sometimes to sit on the benches under the trees and study. Parks are well taken care of but classrooms really require renovation. Canteens are average and they need to step up their game as it is really suffocating to go to some canteens there when it is crowded. Overall, the campus is pretty decent. The library is pleasant too.

Faculty: Teachers in my course are pretty helpful and nice. They help with notes and give ideas on how to prepare for exams. The course curriculum is very relevant and helps cover the core of linguistics. Semester exams are sometimes difficult and sometimes very easy. It totally depends, but if we have been regular in the classes we will not find the exams too difficult. The pass percentage is around 36% I think.

Other: Linguistics is a very fascinating course and it helps in understanding how languages work both scientifically and in the real world plus its history, so I chose it. I think they should add internships and hold more workshops as it would give students more exposure to it.

Do I have to give any entrance test to get admission in LU for BA in linguistics?

Yes. You will have to give Entrance Test to get admission in any course of LU. But even if you didn't there are spot counsellings held to fill up the seats. I suggest filling the form and giving your best. You will get admission easily in LU because it is not that difficult.
