I am dissatisfied with the department attitude and lack of placements.

Placements: The department doesn't offer any placements for its students. Most of our batchmates joined certificate courses to get jobs as the university didn't host any placement drive. We got internship offers from the RBI Ministry of Finance, MOSPI and Centre for Development Studies.

Infrastructure: The department has an air-conditioned computer lab with access to licensed statistical software. Hostel seats are limited and are allocated on a need basis. In the first year, 4 sharing rooms are allotted, and in the second year, two sharing rooms are allotted. For PhD students, single rooms are allotted. The mess food is average, but they serve both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. The hostel didn't have drinking water. The university didn't have a canteen back then.

Faculty: Teachers are not at all helpful, and they didn't put in an effort to get us placed. The course curriculum is very good if students are passionate about the subject. It equips students with sufficient skills to get a job. Semester exams are moderately difficult, with a pass percentage of 85%.

Other: The course curriculum is excellent if you are passionate about the subject. Faculty members should improve teaching standards and provide placement facilities. Along with coursework, they should conduct workshops and quiz competitions. The university should encourage extracurricular activities and sports.
