Extremely proud to be part of English department, in Utkal University (2018-20batch).
Placements: 70% students are working in good universities as teachers and professors. Companies and placement I have no idea as Masters in English don't directly approach companies. Having said that, I would say there is scope of doing an internship as many foreign and local intellectuals come to give us talks and seminars monthly.
Infrastructure: The facilities are great. But the library needs to be upgraded. About hostel infrastructure, there are 7 ladies and gents hostels each, the environment is quite good and clean depends on which hotels we are living in. The food quality also depends upon the hostel it's mostly average. Lack of a good medical facilities inside the campus but good hospitals like Sparsh and Apollo are just 10 minds away.
Faculty: The faculty members are extremely friendly, helpful, cooperative to all the students. Esp of the English Department (2018-20) the faculty members are unconditionally serving for the department for the students to get a better knowledge on English and its applications in real life. We have interesting subjects like Travel narrative and Pop culture. Curriculum is relevant and students are interested by the high quality teaching of the professors.
Other: There are less number of fests. Utkal should be more Vibrant in its cultural activities.

Masters in utkal university.
Placements: Nearly maximum students got placed in various government jobs. Their average package is 2 lacs and the highest package is 3 lakhs while lowest package is 1.5 lacs. This is general line, so many students give exams for government jobs. Our college provides own internship for their well being and approximately all students get internships. These are master courses so generally the pass out students get chance to teach in some college or institute.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is obviously better than any other college as previously mentioned because it's been 5 years I have spent over this college and it's good to go. Labs are neat and clean, Wi-Fi facilities are also there, library is separate for separate departments. Hostel is neat and clean and fully sanitized every week 3 times. For sure no queries on hostel. The quality of food we get is generally good from any other government colleges, hospitals are there to avail medical facilities and there is massive ground to conduct all sports and games.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and these teachers are highly qualified and they have massive knowledge over the subject they teaches. They are all Ph.D. scholars and they are government employees. So no queries about the professors. The course is very relevant and this course make the students to give them opportunities to vast area where they can get jobs easily.
Other: As I have done bachelor course it was not relevant so I pursued master course so that I can get better opportunities in this competition zone. The best thing about the course is I was totally focused on one paper only. I don't think nothing should be improved as the course itself is vast to be handled. Ya I have mentioned earlier many things such as sports day, annual function and many other function take place with seminar and all.
