I should join VSSUT or otherwise.
Placements: I am a student of VSSUT Bhubaneshwar, which is one of the most famous colleges all over Odisha, and I am a student of Mechanical Engineering. In the past year, 2024 out of 140 students, 121 students got placed in Mechanical Engineering, and that is why it is known as the golden branch of VSSUT. The lowest package goes up to 4LPA, and the highest in 2024 is 12LPA, but the average package offered is 6LPA, sounds good.
Infrastructure: There is a great infrastructure, 450 acres campus. Labs are also well maintained, smart classrooms. The problem is there in the hostel and also a bit in classrooms in summer season, no air conditioning in classrooms, and in the hostel. The food menu is good, but the quality is decent, not so good, but okay, and they have a great exposure to sports.
Faculty: Its faculty, curriculum, and exams are so important, and they take exams so seriously and strictly. My midterms are over, I will take the exams with proper seriousness. They also ask their own question, and getting 7 to 8 CGPA at VSSUT is like getting 9 CGPA at any other private college.
Other: The main highlight of VSSUT is that they provide all these facilities without charging much of a fee. They take 41k yearly, its very affordable.

I am not really satisfied with professors but the campus is far more beautiful.
Placements: The college is famous for its placements in core branch engineering. Last year (2023), 95% of students got placed in mechanical engineering. The highest package is 43 LPA. The average package is 8 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Wipro, Infosys, Deloitte, Tata Steel, etc. Mainly students from the software branch get internships in the college. Their top roles are data analysis, programming, software design, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of the college are above average. Wi-Fi and central library are also present in the college where you can issue all the books for your course. The mess is far better than top private colleges. The food quality is best where you can get 4 times food in a year. Medical facilities are also available in case of emergency.
Faculty: Teachers are highly educated. They have qualified post-graduation and doctorate of philosophy from top colleges such as IIT and NIT. But their way of teaching is not that creative. They only focus on cramming without the basic knowledge of subjects but some of them are also very supportive. The course curriculum is comprehensive and designed on the basis of industry requirements. Exams are very easy. The questions mainly come from PYQs.
Other: I have chosen mechanical engineering due to my interest in this course. This branch is also the best branch of this college. I don't think that there is any improvement required in this branch. Many fests take place in a year such as Vassaunt and events such as Illumina. The scholarships are also given to the students based on their performance in academic.

Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla, Sambalpur.
Placements: About 90 percent of students got placed every year in campus placement. The highest package is around 7.5 lakh, the lowest is 4.5 Lakh, and the average package is 6 Lakh in Mechanical Engineering. The top recruiting company for ME is Maruti Suzuki. Every year, 100 percent of students get internships in companies like Mahindra, Wipro, Tata, and many more.
Infrastructure: Our hostel is very good. In one room, they accommodate 3 students for 1st-year students. We have good classrooms, but we have no Wi-Fi in classes. We have a central library where every book is available. For the 1st-year students, our college provides the best infrastructure, providing excellent hostel facilities. A single room is provided for 3 students.
Faculty: Each and every teacher in our college is highly qualified, and most of them are Ph.D. holders. Their teaching qualifications are just amazing. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant and it makes students industry-ready. The exams of our college are not very hard or not so easy; it's of moderate difficulty. The passing percentage is nearly 98%. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready.
Other: I love machines and want to know about machines more and more. The best thing about my course is it is a core branch, and it has a lot of scope in ISRO and the motors industry of India, which is an evolving industry.

Best engineering college in Odisha.
Placements: 80% placement rate overall. The Mechanical Engineering branch has a 95% placement rate. The lowest package is 3 LPA, the highest package is 22 LPA, and the average package is 6.25 LPA. L&T, Aditya Birla Group, and JSW Group are the top recruiters. Internship facilities are also available, and the college has tried with different organizations to provide modern skills to students.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is also above average in our college. The library contains all kinds of books, and the lab is also well-equipped. Wi-Fi facilities are available on campus. Classrooms have digital boards. VIMSAR is present near our campus for medical facilities. The campus is also well-connected to Sambalpur and Burla markets through the city bus and Mo bus.
Faculty: Faculty are excellent in our college, and the majority are Ph.D. qualified. The majority of our faculty members are Ph.D. holders, and some have also completed their Ph.D. from top IITs. Semester exams are mostly easy, and the majority of questions are from pyqs, except in some subjects.
Other: The best thing is the college has very low fees and a high placement rate.

It is the oldest university.
Placements: In the mechanical branch, 112 candidates were placed with the highest package of 17 lakhs per annum, an average package of 7 LPA, and the lowest package of 3 LPA. 30 candidates were placed in L&T, 17 in JSW, and 12 in Maruti Suzuki, which are top recruiting companies for our course. Students got internships from L&T, JSW, Aditya Birla Group, Maruti Suzuki, Shyam Metallic, Reliance Jio BP, Tata Electronics, and LearnNex.
Infrastructure: Institute Wi-Fi is available including hostel Wi-Fi free. Labs are clean and the workshop lab is kept in a separate place and guided by teachers. Classrooms are very clean where 100 students can sit and both whiteboards and smart boards are available. Ceiling lights and windows are there and there is a central library which is a very big and calm place to study. All books are available so no need to buy books. In the hostel, foods are good and the secretary is kept for health and hygiene. Mess, events, event etc. Which provides clean, provide clean facilities. A garden is also available and there is a place to play badminton, etc. And a shop where all needs are available. A library, games, and study room with AC are available and all juniors don't stay in the same hostel with seniors so there is no fear of seniors. But in the boys’ hostel, 1st year and 2nd year students stay in different buildings on a boundary.
Faculty: In the mechanical engineering branch, teachers are helpful and knowledgeable, but in labs, they just teach, and experiments are done by students themselves. They teach in a language students are comfortable with. They give assignments for better practice. The semester exams are good, and practical exams are also conducted. To get placement, at least a 7 CGPA is required, and an 8 CGPA is maintained.
Other: I chose this course because the VSSUT mechanical branch has better placements than other branches, which is the best thing. I am very interested in the mechanical branch, where all machines and robotics are available to study. I want our teachers to help with lab experiments. Since it is a very old university, some development is required, but the campus is very beautiful. The auditorium and e-learning center are very beautiful. Scholarships, sports, fests, and different types of clubs like Pixels, Soul, Dance, Coding, Veer Racers, IIC, Robotics, and many more activities are available, which is very interesting.

Yes, you are if your AIR is 18360 but if this is your State rank then maybe not. From now on board marks don't affect JEE rank.
