Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology has many clubs and societies for the students for the overall development of the student community.

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology charges a one-time hostel admission fee of INR 15,000 which is to be submitted on the day of reporting.

KIIT provides hostel facilities to all the interested students & the rooms are allotted on the day of reporting itself. There are separate hostels for boys and girls and all these hostels are situated within the university campus. All the boy’s hostels are named KP’s (King’s Palace) and the girls' hostels as QC’s (Queen’s Castle). You can choose whether you need a double sharing or triple sharing room with or without AC. Also, if you want to switch from non-AC to AC or vice-versa, you can submit the request for the same at the end of the first year. Almost all the first-year boys are generally allotted KP-7.

Facilities in KIIT Hostels

- All the boys' & girls' hostels are equipped with round-the-clock internet connectivity which can be availed using the ID & Password provided.

- All the hostels have attached mess & dining facilities which can accommodate a good number of students.

- All the hostels have separate reading rooms that students can use for studying or group discussions.

- Hostels are changed after the completion of the first year.

- Food and Mess facilities: There is a proper menu followed by all the kitchens. And you can eat veg or non-veg food as per your choice and suitability. This menu is revised/changed every four to five months by the hostel administration and the quality of the food provided is also decent. On all the special occasions such as Diwali, Basant Panchami, Holi, Republic days, etc. all the hostels have a special menu arranged by the administration, which is better than normal days. Breakfast is available from 7 AM to 10 AM, lunch from 12 noon to 2 PM, snacks from 6 PM to 7 PM and dinner from 8 PM to 10 PM. All the dining halls have a big size television, where resident students enjoy watching IPL games, movies & other entertaining shows while having their meals. Rules and Regulations at KIIT Hostels

During the stay in the hostel, the students have to ensure that they maintain the decorum & guidelines set by the hostel administration & if violated they may have to pay a hefty fine. For example, during my hostel days, if we didn't mark the biometrics, an amount of INR 700 was imposed as a fine after one or two warnings. Before leaving the hostel & after coming from outside, all the students need to mark their biometrics to record their attendance in the system. The last entry time for all the first-year students is 8 PM for boys and 7 PM for girls. KIIT provides a bus/ shuttle facility for all the first-year students to travel from labs to the hostels. All the hostel wardens & staff are supportive & helpful and you can reach out to them anytime. It is mandatory for all the hostelers to take prior approval in writing from their associate Dean before leaving the hostels for vacation/holidays.

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology charges a one-time hostel admission fee of INR 15,000 which is to be submitted on the day of reporting.
