Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) provides the facility of study materials to its learners. IGNOU’s Material Production and Distribution Division is responsible for sending the study material to learners across the country. IGNOU study material pdf is available in offline and online modes. Learners can get access to the study material through IGNOU’s official website, ignou.ac.in. Students need to create an account at egyankosh.ac.in/registration to download IGNOU study material. In addition to this, the IGNOU printed material/ IGNOU book are sent to the learner’s registered address through a speed post.

The Indira Gandhi National Open University offer admission on a first-come-first-serve basis. There is no set seat intake at the open universities. Hence, the seat count is directly proportional to the number of applicants. IGNOU BSc seat allotment is merit-based, except for PB BSc Nursing course. For the nursing course, seats are allotted based on scores in OPENNET exam. Candidates can get a seat in the course by registering on the IGNOU admission portal in online mode.

IGNOU Assignments 2025
Students need to submit Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) assignments in order to appear for the IGNOU examinations. Learners can visit the official website of IGNOU, ignou.ac.in to download the assignments for the term-end examination. Students can download the IGNOU assignments through online or offline mode at their respective regional centers. It must be noted that it is mandatory to submit the IGNOU assignments as it has 30% marks weightage in the final exams.
Commonly asked questions
IGNOU results for PhD admission are out on the official website of the institute. Candidates who have at least 50% aggregate in the entrance test (45% aggregate in case of SC/ ST/ OBC (Non Creamy layers)/ Differently abled persons) are shortlisted for the interview subject to the maximum limit of five times of the available seats. The entrance test carries a weightage of 70% and 30% weightage is allocated to the interview/ viva.
For the IGNOU MBA course, the minimum aggregate is 50% (45% for reserved category candidates). Candidates must hold the pass certificates (original/ copies) at the time of admission. These documents are required for verification purposes. The open university verifies that the applicants meet the eligibility requirements before offering seats.
All the admission forms submitted via the Online Admission System are scrutinised and confirmed for admission subject to the fulfilment of eligibility criteria. These forms are processed region-wise on a first-come-first-serve basis. Therefore, the time required for the processing of forms for different regional centres may vary depending on the number of applicants from the respective region. Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) offers various open learning courses to its students. These courses are offered across streams such as Science, Arts, Commerce, Management and Technology, among others. For the convenience of the students, IGNOU has set up multiple study centres across the country. They can choose IGNOU study centres located nearest to their accommodation. Study centres of IGNOU serves as a support system for students enrolled in various programmes. These centers provide a range of services namely, practical sessions, counseling, workshops, library facilities, and examinations, and more.
