A very good college for B.Tech marine engineering in terms of academics, placement, overall growth.

Placements: The pay is very attractive. 100% placement. They provide paid internships. 90% of students got placements in renowned companies. The average package is 12 lakh to 14 lakhs. TNU has professional collaboration with K. Shipping Pvt. Ltd, Deston Ship Management, Blue Bird Shipping Management, etc.

Infrastructure: It is a residential course. Lovely campus with Wi-Fi. Hygienic food available in the canteen. Every student gets 50k medical insurance during the course. Cricket ground, basketball field, football ground available within the campus. Residence in the hostel is compulsory, and separate hostels are available for boys and girls. Ship-in-campus and Free fall Davit are available in running condition for practical training.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and cooperative. All are industry experts. 75% attendance is a must, and they are very strict about attendance and exams. The course curriculum is very relevant to industry requirements, and they provide full support in training.

A very enriching course with an opportunity to travel round the Globe.

Placements: In our batch, nearly all were placed, 100% placement happened; companies like K-Shipping, Destan Shipping, Apeejay Shipping, BlueBird Shipping companies had done recruitments to our batchmates. This is one of the esteemed courses where we have received the Offer Letter for Internship at the very beginning of the course. It is a Paid Internship where we are offered a handsome stipend in dollars. After 8-12 months of internship, after the course ends, getting a job in one of the esteemed shipping companies happens without any hassle with the intervention of our university management. Salary packages vary from 2500 US Dollars for Junior Engineers to 20,000 US Dollars for Chief Engineers.

Infrastructure: The hostel facilities are simply awesome. There is a separate hostel inside TNU campus for Mariners (Marine Engineering students). It has all sorts of facilities - twin-sharing rooms, Gym, swimming pool, basketball courts, a separate Dining area, and proper bathrooms. Also, for the course, the Marine Engineering department has a separate building built on an Original ship. TNU is the only university having a Ship-on-campus for live demonstration of the different parts and mechanisms of a ship for students. This helps students to have a hands-on experience which is priceless. The huge Library inside the campus also is an add-on for students to study and get knowledgeable.

Faculty: The course is designed as per the directives of D G Shipping Government of India. Hence all the methods, syllabus, exam facility, training imparted to students for this course are as per the government Standards. An add-on is the Ship-on-campus facility and Internship and Placement facilities for Marine students. We never had to think of a second option for a job.

Other: I chose this course as Placement is 100% for this course. Value for money course, good environment at TNU campus, ragging-free, green Campus. Faculty members go out of the way to help students get placed.

It is one of the best colleges in India.

Placements: Mostly, all students got placed. Our university had a huge campus with a peaceful and green environment. We had smart classrooms and a laboratory. High packages of salary were offered. Many types of internships were offered at our college. Many of us currently do internships. Our teacher helped us a lot to do internships. Doing an internship will be very helpful when getting a job. Internship students were often given more importance during the job. So do internships too.

Infrastructure: Good facilities were available in our college. I like our college very much. The campus was very huge. If I am upset, I turn around a little and light my mind. There was a coffee shop in the college. I liked it very much. Our classrooms were very good. Every class had a projector and a very good sound system. It is very important that the students do not have any difficulty understanding the class.

Faculty: Our college had helpful staff members. Our college gave placements from different companies and it helped us to show the way to do after completing B.Sc. from our college. Many people who wanted to pursue higher education were given special benefits. Our college helped those who look to get a job.

It is one of the best marine engineering institutes in Eastern India.

Placements: Almost 80% of the students got placed last year. The starting salary offered when they become a certified engineer after obtaining class IV COC is around $ 1,500.

Infrastructure: The marine engineering department has a fully operational ship on the campus and a fully operational 3,000 BHP main propulsion engine. There are various labs and workshops. All classrooms are of modern type, with an internet connection, overhead projector, etc. The hostel is on twin sharing basis with a Wi-Fi connection. There are facilities for all types of outdoor and indoor games, swimming pool, gymnasium with multi-gym facilities. There are two doctors and a medical harbour available for 24x7 for students.

Faculty: Our faculty members have vast experience of a minimum of 15 years. All marine faculty members are ex-chief engineers of the ship. The course is highly relevant for joining merchant ship. The B.Tech marine engineering course is approved by DGS government of India, and it is a right course for joining the ship as a marine engineer.

Other: Various scholarships are available. Our college keeps students busy after class hours with various extracurricular activities.
