B.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemistry - Batch of 2026

The underrated college of Delhi University .
Placements: Placements are poor and the placement cell is even not functional. Students after completion of the course pursue higher education or some of them start preparing for government exams. Some of the department offer placement but it's not worth it. So placements are not good in my college.
Infrastructure: Hostel facility is not available at the college. There is a canteen in our college functional only in college days. The food quality is okayish. Sports and games are good. Interdepartmental sports meet and annual sports meet took place every year.
Faculty: Teachers are awesome and friendly. They are highly qualified from top institutions like IIT and Delhi University. Course curriculum is relevant but stricter to syllabus and UGC guidelines. Semester exams are good and can be clear easily. Pass percentage is around 40%.
Other: I was interested in pursuing my education in the field of science, particularly chemistry. If this course has been constructed to be ready for the industries then it would be better for me.

College is very good for academics, but not for those students who want to enjoy college life.
Placements: The placement is not that great for the B.Sc. course, and generally, low job opportunities. As, a B.Sc. Polymer Science is available only in our college. The average salary package offered is 4 LPA-5 LPA, which is mainly for industry-related work. We need to prepare ourselves to live far from our hometown near industries.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel facility available inside the college premises, but PGs are available near the college at affordable rates. The canteen is average, neither too bad nor too good. It is advisable not to eat from the canteen on a daily basis, it's okay sometimes.
Faculty: Faculty members are good, supportive, and understanding of studies. They often help students with their problems, and the teaching method is understandable. There are fewer assignments and more practical learning. The college is good for studies.
Other: The college is good for academics, but fests and events are not up to the mark for the University of Delhi. The budget is very low and management's planning is poor. If one wants to enjoy fests and events then consider taking admission to the North or South campus, as fests and events are below average in almost all off campus colleges.

Faculty members and seniors are awesome and very helpful. Infrastructure is also average.
Placements: I don't know much about placements in my college because most students go for higher education or competitive exams like UPSC/SSC etc. After completing B.Sc. Students also got internships and projects. Most of the Alumni of this college become teachers, and professors and some even become officers in the armed forces or go for civil services.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is just average. The condition of lab, lecture room and library are good. Wi-Fi availability is there but sometimes it doesn't work. Good sports playgrounds and enough campus size. No hostel facility but you can find PG near the college. Also, the canteen food is less than average.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and very helpful. The course curriculum is relevant and projects/internships are also provided to make the students ready for industry work. Semester exams are not so difficult. Almost 80-90% students clear those exams.
Other: I chose B.Sc (hons. ) Chemistry because I have interest in chemistry, and you get deep knowledge of subject. I think teachers should focus more on practical work rather than just teaching. Strength of college -is1700 (approximately. ) The events/fest are less than average. Students also get scholarships/fee concessions. The ECA activities are not so frequent but are good.

Good infrastructure; value for money.
Placements: No placement or placement are extremely rare. In my graduating year, no placements occur in our branch. Placement is only available in the Polymer Science and Food Technology Departments. There are no such companies coming for other departments such as Chemistry, Physics, Electronics, and others.
Infrastructure: Excellent infrastructure and a beautiful structure. Concerts are also held on a yearly basis. There are no hostels. The library's facilities were awesome. Except for the tea, the food in the canteen was also delicious. Sports facilities and indoor games will be available, but only during certain hours.
Faculty: Faculty was excellent in all branches. However, strict faculty is only for first-year students; after that, there is no such strictness. Assignment were given on daily basis. Lectures and practicals were also good

Our college is very good, and I'm satisfied with it.
Placements: I am in the first year, so I don't know much about the placements offered in the college. But as I heard, there is not a lot of good placement. Only a few students get placements. The salary packages available in our college are not so good; only the students get 3 to 5 LPA. There are many students who choose chemistry as a subject.
Infrastructure: The facilities of our college are awesome and fantastic. You will find all well-maintained classrooms, a library with a great collection of books, a hygienic canteen where you will find fresh food and a variety of foods, and many sports facilities are also present in the college with coaches.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very good and have a very sweet nature among students. They help the students by making him or them confidently, strong and helping at every moment when they face problems. If we talk about the semester exams, they are not as tough as I thought in the beginning. The exams are moderate.
Other: I chose this course as I have been interested in chemistry since I started. The campus surroundings are great, having all bus and metro facilities just 5 to 6 minutes from the college.

Overall, the college is very great.
Placements: A total of 6 to 7% of students got placed in the chemistry course. Some of the companies offer good packages in this course, but there is also scope for government jobs like labs and government hospitals. This course provides huge opportunities for students to earn more money.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good. The library is very good and has a good collection of various books. It has a great canteen, and all types of food are available in the canteen. South Indian food is also available. Various types of sports and sports labs are available.
Faculty: The teachers are always very helpful to students. The teachers are highly qualified and very knowledgeable. Semester exams are lightly typical, but you have to go through your syllabus. You can be able to perform well in your exams.
Other: The college is great.

I have highly loved it because of the infrastructure and teachers are very good.
Placements: Around 50% of students can get placements. The highest salary package offered is 2 LPA, and the average salary offered is Rs 80,000. The lowest salary offered is Rs 35,000. Schools and colleges are the recruiting companies. Only 30% of students get internships in teaching. Students can offer to be a professor, teachers, or a pharmacist.
Infrastructure: It has a big library and sports complex. The classrooms are big and well ventilated. Laboratories are well maintained to experiment. Rooms are not good, food is not good quality, sports and games are not much preferred. Wi-Fi is not provided, and students have to use their own.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful they talk very politely and calmly. They are highly qualified and teach like water that helps a tree to grow. This course is providing students with lots of opportunities and become industry-ready like a pharmacist. Exams are not that much tough, and students can easily clear them. The pass percentage is 60%.
Other: I am very inspired by our chemistry teacher in school, so I have to become a chemistry professor to teach students. Students can enjoy chemistry practicals, and they are very fun. The passing ratio should be improved. Events and fests are organised in February where singers and actors join.

It provides good faculty members and an average infrastructure.
Placements: Right now, I am in the second year of my college, so I have not experienced placement. Internships are provided by the college at regular intervals of time. About 30-40% of students get placement here. The highest salary offered is Rs. 28,000 per month, and the lowest salary offered is Rs. 15,000 per month.
Infrastructure: The college has a decent infrastructure. It provides all facilities for students. The library facility is good, and almost all types of books are available. Labs are working in good conditions. Wi-Fi facility is available, and classrooms are well-furnished. The sports club is available in the college where facilities are provided. The food served in the canteen is awesome. The medical assistant provided is average.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are supportive as well as knowledgeable. Their way of teaching is interactive as well as interesting. The course curriculum is relevant, but the exposure part is somewhat lacking, in my opinion. Semester exams are of the medium level. I am not aware of the pass percentage.
Other: I have chosen this course due to my interest in the chemistry subject, which I like the most. The best thing is the mechanism of things that are going on and the reactions between different elements. Our college should improve the exposure part so that we can have more field experience. I am from the COVID-19 batch, so I have not attended the fests as much in online mode. Different events are organised in the online mode, which is full of fun. The connectivity is good, and the nearest metro station is around 5 to 6 kilometers from the college. Scholarships are also provided by the college.
