Review of Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College.
Placements: Placement is very good. 60% of students get placed. Companies like TCS, Wipro, Fintech, Tata Power, Cognizant, and Capgemini come here for placements. Many students get internships in PSUs. Roles like analyst, data scientist, and full-stack developer are offered.
Infrastructure: College life is good. There is Wi-Fi, grounds, a gym, a chess club, and an entrepreneurship cell. The campus is very good. The hostel is good, with facilities for cricket and football. Labs and the 1st-year building are good.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. The course curriculum is under MAKAUT, and now it is autonomous. With so many facilities, exams are easy, and everyone passes. Programs like B.Tech, M.Tech, BBA, MBA, BCA, and MCA are good, and nothing is bad. Teachers are friendly

Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College review.
Placements: Currently, I am pursuing my B.Tech from BC Roy Engineering College. In my batch around 70 to 75 percent of the eligible students are placed. The highest package offered is around 8 to 10LPA the lowest package offered is about 2.5 to 3 LPA and the average stayed near 3.5 to 4.5 LPA. Companies like TCS Cognizant Wipro Capgemini Accenture and a few startups are the main recruiters. Around 40 to 50 percent of students got internships mostly through TCS iON BSNL and some teach startups. The top roles offered are Software Engineer Developer Analyst and for core branches Trainee/Junior Engineer roles.
Infrastructure: My department has good basic infrastructure with Wi-Fi smart classrooms updated labs and a useful library. The hostel is comfortable with clean rooms and regular water and electricity. The mess food is average but the canteen has better options. Medical help is available on campus and the college also has facilities for sports like cricket football volleyball and indoor games. Overall the infrastructure is decent and supportive for students.
Faculty: The faculty in my course is helpful and knowledgeable. Most teachers are well qualified and explain topics clearly and they are approachable whenever we need guidance. The curriculum is mostly relevant and covers the important subjects though like most colleges some parts still felt a bit theory heavy. The semester exams are moderate not too easy and not too tough. If you attended classes and studied regularly passing was not a problem. Still backlog is a problem and makaut is unpredictable. The overall pass percentage in our course is usually around 70 percent. It depends from department to department.
Other: I chose this course because I was genuinely interested in the field and saw good career opportunities. The best part is the practical learning through labs and projects along with supportive faculty. I do wish the course has more industry focused training and workshops. Campus life is lively with fests events and plenty of extracurricular activities. The surroundings are peaceful and the campus is overall good. Scholarships are available for eligible students which also helped many in my batch like swami vivekananda available for WB students only.

Placements: At Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College, students get about 70 percent placement through campus recruitment. The highest package is 19.14 LPA, the lowest is 4 LPA, and the average is 6 LPA. The top companies are TCS, Infosys, and Tata. Every student gets an internship. The top role is achieved by studying hard.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is very good. The campus and buildings are good. Wi-Fi is available everywhere on the college campus. The college hostel is available and of good quality.
Faculty: The college faculty members are very helpful to us. They are qualified from top universities like NIT Durgapur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Bombay, and IIT Delhi. Other: I chose this course because I love information technology. There is nothing to improve. Events are an essential part of engineering life, and the fest is held in January.

I am satisfied because of the good placements.
Placements: In this college, 90% of students were placed in top companies like TCS, Wipro, and Cognizant, as these were the top recruiting companies. The top roles offered were analyst trainee. The highest package was 15 LPA, the average was 6 LPA, and the lowest was 2 LPA. Every year, 80 to 90 percent of students got internships in TCS, Wipro, and others.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure were excellent in this college. Classrooms and labs were neat and clean. All necessary equipment was available for students. Wi-Fi was good for accessing the internet. The food quality in the canteen was excellent. Sports like football and cricket were organized here.
Faculty: Teachers were very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They taught students with dedication to help them understand the subjects easily. This course was related to the industry and helped students get jobs in top companies. The semester exams were not very difficult, and the passing marks were 50.
Other: I chose this course to learn about computer technology. The best part of this course was the electrical subject. As it helped to learn many things. Data Structure was a tough subject and needed improvement. Different technical events and fests happened here, along with cricket and football events, where students could learn.

Placements: The CSE department at B.C. Roy Engineering College consistently achieves strong placement results. As of the 2024-25 placement season, around 80% of students from CSE core branches, including CSE, secured placements. Top recruiters offer deserving roles like software engineer, programmer analyst, and data analyst.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are spacious, equipped with projectors and audio systems for smart learning. High-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the academic building, labs, and library. The hostel facilities are decent, offering both single and shared accommodation.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, approachable, and knowledgeable in their respective fields. Many of them hold strong academic qualifications and have good subject expertise, though the teaching style may vary from teacher to teacher. Some focus more on theory, while others try to give practical insights.

To summarize-the college is good.
Placements: The placements are quite good, compared to other colleges in Durgapur (except NIT Durgapur). The college has good connections with recruiting companies like Wipro, TCS, Capgemini, and Infosys. So every year a good amount of students gets placed. I won't say everyone gets placed, but about 70-80% of them get placed. The average package range around 5-6 LPA, while the highest go up to 12-15 LPA. If you are from CSE core, IT, ECE, there are high chances of cracking a good package, but comparing to other departments there are high chances.
Infrastructure: The college has an overall good infrastructure. Classrooms are quite spacious and labs have all the modern instruments. Personally being a CSE student, the computer lab is very good. For the 1st & 2nd years they do not provide AC in every classroom, but for most of the labs, AC rooms are provided. Canteens are also good and affordable. The good thing is you get Wi-Fi support all around the campus. They also have a library, which is good, but during exam session it feels crowded.
Faculty: All the faculty are graduates from colleges like NIT, IITs, and other top institutes. For most subjects, you get good teachers. But for a few faculty, you might not feel like they really teach well. Semester examinations are being held on time and in a disciplined manner. For most of the exam papers, you won't find them hard if you study. The course definitely helps to make you industry-ready, but you still have to put effort in your own to shine among your peers.
Other: The college is very forward in organizing events throughout the years. They organize a range of events related to different fields, which give you a chance to shine if you participate in them. If I talk about the cultural fest,it is being held once a year in January. And right after, they organize a technical fest.
