Gargi College's new block is outstanding.

Placements: Gargi College has lately seen some of the best possible placements. Around 70% of Economics Hons students are placed every year. Companies like Deloitte, Zomato, Infosys, and others have recruited students in good numbers from Gargi College. I am also preparing for placements as this is my final year, and our placement cell is helping all the students with that.

Infrastructure: Luckily, a new block is available now, which is full of facilities. Even the previous block was nice. The auditorium and library buildings are also aesthetic. Our canteen provides very good food. It is close to Green Park, and KNC College is also in our vicinity.

Faculty: Our course has provided us with various learning opportunities. From microeconomics to macroeconomics, small and big concepts of economics have been taught in our course. All the credit goes to our faculty members, as they have taught us everything in the best way possible, so we will never forget these concepts.

Other: I chose this course because I want to master economics, and I am doing so. Reverie is our annual fest. However, even during our fest, no boys are allowed on campus, and that is how strict our college is.

Nice college with subpar infrastructure but a great crowd and faculty.

Placements: I am not very aware of the placements. I have just joined the college and am currently in my 1st year. However, according to my seniors, the placements for my course vary from around 5–21 LPA. The placement cell is also very active and great. Some of my seniors got placed into great internships through the placement cell.

Infrastructure: Most of my classes are held in the new academic block, which has spacious and nice classrooms. The library also has a reading room with air conditioning where you can sit and study between classes. Canteen food is also pretty affordable. There is also a Nescafé and Mother Dairy on campus.

Faculty: One of the best things about Gargi is that faculty is great and really helpful. While the curriculum for Eco Hons is a bit harder than most courses, it is still pretty manageable. Being a 1st-year student, I haven't gotten the chance to take any exams yet, but seniors have not expressed any dissatisfaction.

Gargi College review on faculty, placements, and overall crowd.

Placements: Placements are mediocre, with 5–6 LPA as the average package. Top recruiters are BRAIN and ZS Investments. The top roles are analyst roles. Not many people get jobs in Eco Hons from our college because of Placement Cell politics. Only B.Com (Hons) and B.Com Prog get good offers.

Infrastructure: It is a good college with good facilities. For Wi-Fi, you should preferably use Airtel. Jio does not work here or in any other DU colleges. Though the classrooms might be disappointing, overall it is good for the money you have invested. Another problem is that there are no ACs, so in summers it might be tough.

Faculty: Faculty is genuinely great and very well qualified. We have teachers from top colleges who possess great knowledge. This course is very demanding. The curriculum is very nice and competitive. After pursuing this course, one can have a bright future.

Best societies and diverse crowd

Placements: Gargi College has a lot of societies, including the Placement Cell, which is prestigious and through which students get placements. The highest package was 25 LPA, the lowest was 3.5 LPA and the average package ranged between 4-6 LPA. Top recruiters include Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG, PwC, Brain & Company, etc. The Placement Cell provides internships and training and enhances the skills necessary for placement.

Infrastructure: The campus area is 13 acres. It has 3 blocks for different streams. The classrooms and washrooms in the old building are not so good, but the New Academic Block has good infrastructure and clean washrooms. It also has a library and playground. We have one normal canteen and a Nescafe canteen, which offer decent food. Personally, I recommend Friend Price and Iced Tea. The college has an on-campus medical room. Although on-campus hostel is not available.

Faculty: The faculty of our college are knowledgeable. My teachers have studied at SRCC, LSR, and DSE. The teachers are ready to help you and solve your doubts. We even have tutorial classes that are held for doubt solving. Economics Honours is quite tough. The first year is easy, but the seniors said that 2nd year will be the hardest. Many students might be unaware that in DU you have to choose 4 optional subjects: GE, SEC, VAC, and AEC.

Other: Gargi College has 41 societies, which are very active. There are societies for dance, music, fine arts, photography, social work, debate, and many more. The campus is full of greenery and it even has peacocks and rabbits. The crowd is diverse and supportive. Attendance is not an issue at our college, as there are no strict rules.

Placements: The placements at Gargi College are good. Around 70–80% of students secure placements and internships. I am satisfied with the college.

Placements: Placements are average, not that good. Average placements mean that while some students manage to secure jobs. The opportunities may not be as promising in terms of salary packages, job roles, or the number of recruiters visiting the campus. This can be disappointing for students who have high expectations from the college.

Infrastructure: Hostel facilities are not available, so you have to live in a PG. The infrastructure is good. Labs are well-maintained, and the library is not too big. The new canteen is good, and there is a medical room in the college. Sports and games are well encouraged, with almost every game available.

Faculty: Teachers at my college are helpful, well-qualified, and knowledgeable. Some teachers teach very well. Semester exams are at a moderate level. If you have studied well, you can pass easily. Almost every student passes the exam, so the passing percentage is 100%.

Decent infrastructure, average teachers, average placements, limited exposure, and average fests.

Placements: Around 8% to 12% of students from the Economics Honours course got placed, with top recruiters including EY, Studio Mosaic, KPMG, Qual4 Infotech, and Accentuate. While specific salary figures for the highest, lowest, and average packages are not available. These companies offered roles such as system and application services associate and positions in risk advisory, among others. The percentage of students securing internships is comparatively lower, with opportunities provided by organizations like Younity in Suvidha Foundation, and Uttejna Foundation.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available but limited to a few areas. Classrooms are decent but lack AC and coolers, making summers comfortable. The library is large and well-equipped. There is no hostel facility. Canteen food is not satisfactory, but medical facilities are good. Sports and games facilities are decent.

Faculty: Teachers are qualified, but their teaching methods are not very effective. They often assume that students already understand the basics and do not focus on clearing fundamental concepts. Other: I chose this course because I heard it offers good future prospects and a wide career scope. The best part is that it sometimes helps in understanding how economics functions. Events are well-organized, but fests are just average. Campus crowd is decent. Scholarships are a bit difficult to get. There are plenty of extracurricular activities happening regularly.

It is a pretty good college, mess can be improved. It is a peaceful and calm campus.

Placements: With 200+ recruiters in 2023, the highest package was INR 21.50 LPA, with an average of 5.35 LPA. Top recruiters were DE Shaw, Deloitte, PwC, Wipro, and EY, with roles such as analyst, consultant, and researcher. Median salary is INR 4.65 LPA.

Infrastructure: The Economics department has Wi-Fi-enabled Google labs as well as a stocked library, with laptops and projector-equipped classrooms. Mess food is okay. There is a Nescafe and a Mother Dairy on campus. Medical facilities are also good, and sports are encouraged.

Faculty: The faculty members are very qualified and helpful. They are very friendly and kind to all students. They provide the needed material and questions for the exams. The curriculum is industry-relevant, covering important aspects and practical skills. Semester exams are pretty tough, with a high pass percentage.
