This is a good college for study but if you want a good campus life don't expect it.
Placements: The placement in my college is very good. 90% of students every year get selected for placement. The highest package of my college in my branch is 13 LPA. The average package of my branch is 5 - 6 LPA. These numbers are satisfactory for students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my college is good but most of the buildings are under construction which makes us a little uncomfortable. The hostel of our college is very good as it gives us good service with satisfactory mess. Faculty members of every department are supportive of students which is a good thing.
Faculty: Teachers are skilled and resourceful in our college. They provide us with good knowledge. Although semester examinations are very hard as many of the students score less in exams still 90% of students pass their exams with satisfactory scores. The curriculum is satisfactory but not industry-ready.

If students want college with challenges then they join Government College of Engineering, Amravati.
Placements: Every year 60-65 students get selected in my college, i.e., around 80% of students get selected for placements. Top recruiting companies in my college are TCS and Tech Mahindra. The highest package of my college is 13 LPA this year. The average package ranges from 5-6 LPA. But students are getting packages on their own.
Infrastructure: It is not as good as many of the renowned colleges. Infrastructure is average because many buildings are under construction. Our college has a big library with a computer library where we can get any books we want. There is a great hostel with a proper mess which is good compared to other outside messes.
Faculty: There are great faculty members who do not put any pressure on students but for other faculty members, I can't say the same. We get the course curriculum for the entire year before it started but we do not follow it accurately. Semester exams are a big deal for students to pass but around 90% of students pass every semester. I do not think they make us ready for the industry. The faculty members of the college are good.
Other: I chose the mechanical branch because I did not want to take CS or IT branches. Now, I am happy with my decision because I love to deal with hardcore jobs like welding, cutting, and making something that is useful.

Not so satisfied after taking admission. The environment of this college is not much good.
Placements: I am studying in the mechanical branch at Government College of Engineering, Amravati. It's been 6 months since I joined the college and I live in the new boys hostel of this college. As per my experience, the placements and internship rates in the college are not good even for technical branches like CS and IT.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this college is also average like the classrooms and the benches are very old. Wi-Fi, labs, and library facilities are very nice. There is a wide variety of books in the library. Wi-Fi has been installed in almost all the departments of the college. In computer labs, there are i7 computers. Moreover, the hostel life is very disciplined, students stay awake at 2:00 AM and it happens every day. The reason for their late nights is not their studies but they do timepass with their friends.
Faculty: Some faculty members are quite good. But most of them are lazy (most of the students don't understand anything in class). In the first semester exams in maths subject, 53 students out of 70 students of mechanical branch failed in maths. So, the checking of the answers sheet is done very strictly.

It is one of the best colleges for engineering in Maharashtra.
Placements: The placement ratio in the college is good but average package offered in the college placement is about 3.5 LPA to 8 LPA. The network of the college with the companies is good, many known companies visit college example, L&T, TCS, Mahindra, Reliance, and many more.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of college is good. Every branch has its department. Classrooms are good and college also has Wi-Fi facility. Hostel is available in the college for both boys and girls. Hostel rooms are good and also has Wi-Fi facility. The meal of hostel is also good, you can get delicious food in low price.
Faculty: Every faculty member in college is highly educated. The teaching of faculty members is good. Course curriculum is related to course according to NEP2020 design. Exams in college are tough, you have to study seriously for exam. You have to score at least 40% to pass the examination.

Review of Government College of Engineering, Amravati.
Placements: Government College of Engineering Amravati offers on-campus placements. The on-campus package is average. Placements are good for tech branches such as CSE and IT department students. There are compulsory internships in 8th semester. Students are eligible for campus placements starting from 7th semester. Percentage for placement for CSE branch and IT branch is good. Approximately out of 60 students, 50 students get on-campus placements in tech branch.
Infrastructure: I am a hostel student, and hostel is present on the campus. Rooms are quite good and have much space. There are 3 students in one room 3 beds, 2 fans, 4 lights, 3 tables, and chairs are provided in the room. Mess is also available in the hostel. Hostel fee is very low that is only Rs 150 but the maintenance cost is Rs 5,000. Mess is also good compared to outside mess.
Faculty: Faculty to student ratio is balanced. Most faculty members are approachable and helpful. Faculty members of mechanical department are very supportive and helpful. Professor of mechanical department and mathematics is good. They teach complex problems of Maths easily. Our exam pattern is 15 marks CT1 (common test 1), 15 marks CT2 (common test 2), and 60 marks ESE (end-semester exam).

Students also asked

Q:   Is Government College of Engineering Amravati Tier 1 or Tier 2?
A:

Government College of Engineering Amravati is considered an elite class II government engineering college with a great reputation across the state, especially in Maharashtra. Though they have not gained the same status of national recognition that Tier 1 institutions like IITs or NITs enjoy, such institutes remain good places of learning with decent placement records for all sorts of engineering disciplines.

Facilities, teaching expertise, and government support also adorn the college. Still, it cannot win a Top Engineering Colleges of India rank for itself typically, but that certainly gets it into Tier 2.
