An Academic year at IIIT Manipur BTech is divided in two semesters each of approximately 17 weeks duration, an autumn semester (July-November) and a Spring Semester (January- April), the students are required to follow procedures and meet academic requirements in each semester.

A schedule, approved by the Senate, consisting academic activities for a session, inclusive of dates for registration, mid-semester and end-semester examinations, inter-semester breaks etc., is published on the official website of IIIT Manipur.

IIIT Manipur BTech admissions are entrance-based. Students need to apply through JEE Main followed by registering for the JoSAA counselling. The cutoff ranks among the General AI category candidates was between the range of 45341 and 56825. Out of all the specialisations, the most competitive one was B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (Quantum Technologies)

Among the OBC AI category candidates, the cutoff ranks varied between 15760 and 18735. Among the OBC AI category candidates also, the toughest specialisation was B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (Quantum Technologies).
