IISER Bhopal - A passionate scientists dream place.

Placements: Most of the students do not choose to go for placements, and choose to continue with Ph.D. As such, there is no official placement data. But the estimated average salary package ranges from 4 LPA - 8 LPA. Generally in academics, students choose to do internships in other institutes rather than companies. There is also no such data provided, but many students do internships by talking directly to the faculty members via email.

Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are very great. In labs, top-grade equipments are provided. Classroom infrastructure is also very good, with spacious classrooms and speakers to hear the teacher properly. Hostels are also adequately spacious and are 2-person occupancy. Washing machines are also provided in hostels.

Faculty: Teachers are very qualified, all holding at least a Ph.D. post doctorate from internationally reputed universities. They are easy to approach and friendly. Teaching quality is good. Course curriculum is very relevant, and an example of this is that the final year has no coursework, only a masters thesis to adapt students better to current science breakthroughs, and possibly also industry-relevant according to their thesis area. Semester exams are generally moderate-easy in difficult, but sometimes they are a bit difficult. Most students pass the courses, and it is easy to pass at the very least with regular daily study.

Other: I chose this course as I am especially passionate about chemistry and found out this is one of the best institutes to do higher studies in chemistry. The best thing about the course is that it is very relevant to international standards. What I would like to improve about the course is for students to have more flexibility in choosing their first-year courses. The crowd here is very great if you are interested in science. There is no ragging done, and seniors are very friendly towards the juniors.

Great if you're into research and further studies. Campus is beautiful and facilities are good.

Placements: IISER Bhopal is a research-based college, although it also offers BS in engineering and eco-sciences, so placements here are pretty less than a proper engineering college. But some have gotten placements in Barclays, Deloitte, Dr Reddy's, Toppers, Google, etc. But most people pursue higher studies here than going for placements.

Infrastructure: Laboratories and equipment facilities are one of the best in the country. Huge sums of money are spent on research instruments. Hostels are also pretty good; food is somewhat subjective; some like it, others do not. Proper Wi-Fi, a library, lecture halls, and classrooms are available. Sports facilities are the best among all other Iisers. Medical facilities are decent, not very good.

Faculty: Faculty members are top-class (some are one of the best in India), well qualified, and well experienced in their respective fields. The course curriculum is academically very good, though a little exhausting. Exams are at a moderate level, enough to test your learning throughout the course.

Other: Other than the academy, there are multiple fests happening each semester by different councils, and every week or two events are organized by different clubs. I would recommend this college to those who are interested in research or keen to study subjects thoroughly. If you work hard, the college has enough potential to make you grow.

IISER Bhopal: Where it's going?

Placements: IISER Bhopal is a research institute where students pursuing a BS-MS in the Natural Science stream are generally more interested in continuing research rather than taking placements. Over 95% of students secure internships, often at IITs, IISERs, and other research institutes. I am not familiar with the specifics of recruiting companies and placements from IISER Bhopal.

Infrastructure: Regarding infrastructure, IISER Bhopal is one of the finest institutes in India. If you get a chance to visit, make sure to explore the department buildings, garden, and hostel area. The departments have excellent facilities, including well-equipped labs and lecture halls. Labs feature high-tech instruments essential for research. Wi-Fi is available in hostels, the mess, canteens, the Lecture Hall Complex, the library, and most departmental buildings. The quality of food in the six messes is average, and the canteen is a bit overpriced. There is no night canteen, and the ideation hut in the hostel area closes around 12. Sports facilities are impressive, with 16 sports available, and IISER Bhopal has been the IISM (Inter-IISER Sports Meet) Champion for the last four times.

Faculty: The professors at IISER Bhopal are excellent, providing support for any problems or doubts students might have. The course curriculum is well-designed. The BS-MS program includes ten semesters, with eight focused on coursework. Afterward, students can either exit with a BS degree or continue to the final year MS Thesis Project to complete the BS-MS program. The difficulty of semester exams varies by professor, course, and students, but scoring high can be challenging.

Other: Personally, I am pursuing a BS-MS in Chemistry. I was a NEET aspirant before joining IISER and decided to pursue research instead. I particularly appreciate the mindset of our professors and research scholars, and I find the Chemistry department to be the best here. The course is well-designed by scientists and researchers, so I believe it is best to follow the established path. The campus is diverse, with various cultures coming together, and festivals are organized by respective groups. Notable events include the main fest ENTHUZIA, organized by the Student Activity Council (SAC), the Science fest SINGULARITY by the Science Council, and SANGHARSH for sports, arts, and letters by FALC. Students are encouraged to participate in these events.

Absolutely satisfied because of the good faculty members.

Placements: In recent placements, the highest package was INR 21 lacs, and the average was between INR 12 and 13 lacs per annum. Students are also placed in the Google Nomura. Chemistry major students get placed in the Dr. Reddy lab. But most of the students just go for higher studies after passing here.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is great. For different sports, we have different courts. The night canteen is also a great mess. The workers are too friendly, and the mess fee is reasonable. We have free Wi-Fi for 24 hours on the whole campus.

Faculty: Professors are really knowledgeable; they are just sigma males in their respective core research fields. The course curriculum does not prepare students for industry, but it cultivates students for research fields. The semester exams are made from the assignments and tutorials.

Other: We have different events throughout the whole year, such as Enthuzia, Singularity, and Sangharsh. Different cultural events such as Janmashtami, Onam, Ganesh Chaturthi, and Saraswati Pooja are celebrated here.

Review of IISER Bhopal - Indian Institute of Science Education & Research.

Placements: In our college, placements are average. Almost 80% of students are placed. Top recruiting companies like Deloitte, Tata, etc., visit our campus. Many students get internship opportunities as well. You can mail directly to the professors to earn an opportunity to work in their respective labs. During your internship period, you get the opportunity to work with our college teachers and some experienced members.

Infrastructure: Our college has a very good campus with a well-managed infrastructure. The campus is full of greenery and is located out of the city in a very peaceful place. We have seven hostels, each with fast Wi-Fi, hot water in the winter, and a cooler in the summer. We have a very large library, and there are many books and magazines for reading. They are four messes, and mess food is delicious. The lunch, dinner, and breakfast are good. There is a night canteen and some restaurants like Ideation Hut and Sudarshan, that can provide good food on payment. For sports and games, facilities are the best. It has multiple badminton courts, one cricket ground, a football ground, Kho-Kho and kabaddi grounds, and basketball and volleyball grounds. There are TT tables in all hostel's common rooms. Our college has excellent sports facilities.

Faculty: Our teachers are well-qualified. They come from different universities around the world. They are so helpful and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good in a theoretical manner and better in a practical manner. The course curriculum depends on the course and field. It is focused on the more theoretical side of some subjects. Labs are focused on the practical side so both sides are available. There is only a need for regular study for the exam, and if you devote limited hours to all subjects, the end-of-semester paper will go very easily and smoothly for you.

Other: If anyone wants to come to the IISE research area, IISE is the best place for them. If anyone wants a job at the end of the course, IISE is probably not the best place for them. IISER Bhopal courses are very well known in their courses and research areas. IISER Bhopal is ranked 26 in the natural index ranking so campus life at IISER Bhopal is very enjoyable. There are different areas and cultural students so we celebrate different cultural festivals like Onam, Ganesh Visrajan, Diwali, Holi, etc. In March, our college festival named "Enthusia" will be a three-day enjoyable experience for all students. There are a lot of extracurricular activities like different clubs, music, acting, dancing, astronomy, decorations, etc. This college is a little far from the city but there is a bus facility available at a decent cost. Scholarships of various types are available, including Inspire, KVPY, and some state-based scholarships.
