It is the best engineering college and job guaranteed.

Placements: Our seniors have told that around 90% of students get placements, the remaining prefer another side like UPSC or continue for higher education. Getting internships can be difficult as this branch gets short-listed due to branch criteria. The coding is not concentrated, but all internships require some knowledge about coding.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is excellent, and students get unlimited internet with high speed. If students need some download, they can also use the internet. The classrooms have air-conditioners so, no problem during summer. But water is a problem, only sometimes students get mineral water. The campus is clean and there is no pollution. All other facilities are good. For health care, medicines prescribed by a doctor are given free of cost.

Faculty: Education is good but sometimes the syllabus would not be completed and is left sometimes, so there is no complete knowledge of that particular topic. All teachers are experienced but online classes are difficult for all as there are mass copying in exams.

Other: I opted for this course, because of my special interest in chemistry. But most people do not consider students as they won't get a B.Tech degree. But this course is a stress-free course. Students will have a lot of opportunities to participate in fests.

The life at IIT Kanpur is excellent.

Placements: About 40% of the students from our course were placed. Remaining students complete their thesis or research later on the same campus. The highest salary package offered was 12 LPA, which was provided by ICICI Bank. The lowest salary package offered was 4 LPA, and it was also provided by ICICI. The average salary package offered was 7 LPA for students who attended placements. ICICI Bank, banking or financial field companies are main recruiters for our department. About 2 or 3 students got internships in a marketing company. The top role offered is a project in charge.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available on the entire campus. There are highly managed functional labs with high technique machines. There is a huge and highly functional library. The hostel facility is best. Wi-Fi is available in the entire hostel and in every room. They provide amazing and best ever food for 7 days, and the food served in the canteen is average. The campus hospital provides treatment for free of cost. There are a sports complex, gym, swimming pool, all indoor and outdoor games courts.

Faculty: In offline mode, the teachers are helpful. There are highly qualified and experienced professors, and the teaching quality is best. Everything is well explained in lecture slides which are available on the website after completing lectures. Functional labs provide experimental knowledge, which is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready.

Other: It is the best college in India for this course. Chemistry is basically a research-based course, so I am a little interested in this course from my 10th standard. I think placements would be better in future. Many events are organised during the semester, but major attracting events are three events, i.e., culture fest named Antrangni, game fest named Udgosh and technical fest named Techriti. The major crowd on the campus is around 4,000 students. There are best sponsors for fests like Redmi, Samsung, SBI, etc. Every student has an individual scholarship programme.

Candidates must satisfy at least one of the following two criteria with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in the year of first appearance in the Class 12th (or equivalent examination): Candidate must have passed class 12th (or equivalent) Board examination with a minimum of five subjects with the mentioned marks in aggregate (The aggregate marks for PwD candidates should be at least 65%). OR Candidate must have passed class 12th (or equivalent) Board examination with a minimum of five subjects and be within the category-wise (category as per the central list) top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class 12th (or equivalent) board examination. Other mandatory Criteria: Candidate should have appeared for the Class 12th (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2024 or 2025 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Candidates who had appeared in Class 12th (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2023 or earlier, are NOT eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2025, irrespective of the combination or number of subjects attempted/offered. However, if the examination Board of Class 12th (or equivalent) declared the results for the academic year 2022-23 on or after June 28, 2023, then the candidates of that Board who appeared for their Class 12th (or equivalent) examination in 2023 are also eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2025, provided they meet all the other eligibility criteria.
