No, a hostel is not compulsory at IIT Gandhinagar for M.Tech students. However, the college's hostel is very good. Currently, the college has eight hostels. The campus hostels are air-conditioned and have well-furnished rooms. The academic area is just a short distance from the hostels. The student hostels are largely Wi-Fi enabled.

Yes, GATE 2023 exam dates have been announced. IISc Bangalore will conduct the GATE exam on February 3, 4, 10, and 11. The GATE application form will release on Aug 24 on the official website.. The organising institute for GATE is IISc Bangalore. The exam will be conducted online  for 29 papers. Students will be required to solve 65 questions in 180 minutes .

All applications for IIT Gandhinagar MTech course must be submitted  online. Candidates willing to apply for more than one specialisation must submit separate application forms for each specialisation. After the successful submission of the application form, students will receive an application number and a link to download the application form. Save the application form, fill it and furnish the hard copy of this application form and self-attested copies of all the relevant documents during the interview. Incomplete applications are subject to rejection. The application fee is  INR 850 for and INR 1700 for other category students. Students applying via GATE must also apply for the GATE exam. In addition to this, BTech graduates from the IITs with CGPA/ CPI of 8.0 or above (on a scale of 10) are eligible to get admission to M.Tech at IIT Gandhinagar without GATE. Other than GATE or the criteria state above, candidates are required to be a pass in BE/ BTech/ MSc or equivalent in appropriate branches with a minimum of 55% aggregate or 5.5 on a 10-point scale (50% aggregate for SC /ST).
