The cutoff trend for B.Tech at IIT Gandhinagar - Indian Institute of Technology has been increasing in the recent years. In 2024, the closing rank for B.Tech. under general category for all India quota was 1708. In 2023, it increased to 1544 from 1352 in 2022. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed for diffecrent categories as mentioned below:

• 698 to 750 for OBC
• 338 to 338 for SC
• 168 to 207 for ST
• 247 to 264 for EWS

This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.

IIT Gandhinagar was established in 2008 and is ranked 18 by NIRF 2023 for Engineering.  It also holds a record of offering the highest and average package of INR 62 and INR 15.35 LPA to the students. Hence, it can be considered a good option.

The cut off rank in JEE Advanced Round 6 for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering is 1555 which is very close to this range. This was for General category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one can not afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing from round to round, better ranks definitely increases your chances of getting admission at IIT Gandhinagar - Indian Institute of Technology.

IIT Gandhinagar placements 2025 were good. The consolidated placement report 2025 is not released. As per limited available, the average and median package recorded during BTech CSE placement 2025 was 23.21 LPA and 21.5 LPA. The placement rate recorded in BTech CSE, CL and and ME branch was 86.05%, 73.33% and 79.49%.

As per the information available on the official website of JoSAA 2025, the semester-wise IIT Gadhinagar hostel fee is INR 17,250 (this includes hostel seat rent, utilities, etc.). A mess and laundry advance fee of INR 21,000 is also required to be paid by the students admitting to a four-year full-time BTech course at IIT-G.

After JEE session 2 is completed, only those candidates who are aiming for IITs need to start preparing for JEE Advanced after clearing JEE Main. Those who are above the 98th percentile should start preparing for JEE Advanced as soon as possible. Those below this, between the 95th and 98th percentile, should focus on attempting more mock tests and previous year question papers so that they have a better chance of clearing JEE Advanced
