Candidates seeking admission to IIT Jammu for PhD must have completed a master’s degree in Engineering/ Technology or a master’s degree by research in Engineering/ Technology along with a good academic record. They must also have a qualifying GATE score to be eligible for the same. Students can go to the official website to apply and check if there were any changes in the last date of application. 

The application fee per department is INR 300 for General/ Gen-EWS/ OBC category and INR 200 for SC/ ST/ PWD category candidates. This amount is completely non-refundable. Candidates can deposit the requisite application fee by using net banking or debit/credit card facilities. Additional charges are applicable as per the rule of the concerned bank. The fee is, however, not accepted through any other mode.

IIT Jammu has a strong record of placements for BTech, M.Tech and MSc courses. As per the latest report, the IIT Jammu highest offered to BTech CSE students during IIT Jammu placements 2024 stood at INR 53 LPA. Candidates aiming for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) need to meet these cutoff marks in JEE Mains to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2026.

As per the official record, more than 175 recruiters participated during IIT Jammu BTech placements 2024. Earlier, a total of 129 companies visited the campus during IIT Jammu placements 2023. In 2025, the IIT Jammu CSE cutoff was relatively less competitive for admission as compared to that of IIT Goa for students belonging to the General AI quota. However, as compared to IIT Bhilai, for CSE admission in the General category, the JEE Advanced cutoff range was more competitive for IIT Jammu. 

The CSE cutoff ranged between 5626 and 6242 for IIT Bhilai, while for IIT Goa, it ranged from 5626 to 6242. For IIT Jammu, the cutoff ranks were between 5988 and 6651 for CSE admission in the General category. 

IIT Jammu has drawn security guidelines to be followed by the teachers and faculty members. Some of the security instructions include:

• The speed limit inside the campus is 20 KMPH
• Wearing seat belts and helmets while driving on campus is compulsory
• Students are advised to report any suspicious person to the security control room, and others

To make the campus safe and secure, the college is making several attempts.

IIT Jammu BTech cutoff 2024 has been released across multiple specialisations. Based on the Round 1 seat allotment, the BTech cutoff scores ranged between 5555 and, 14948 for the General AII India category students. Among all the BTech specialisations, BTech in CSE is the most competitive specialisation. So, considering the round 1 cutoff, candidates seeking admission to Indian Institute of Technology Jammu must secure a maximum rank upto 14948.
