Identified as an 'Institute of Eminence', the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras or IITM) was established in 1959 as a public technical and research university. It is the third IIT to be set up by the Government of India and is autonomous in nature. The institute recently launched the country's first online BSc Programme in Programming in Data Science. No—if you scored 44 when the cutoff is 45 in JEE Main, you would not qualify for JEE Advanced. Without qualifying JEE Advanced, admission to Indian Institute of Technology Madras is not possible, since IITs admit students only through that route.
However, you still have good alternatives. Lovely P

With a 98.5 percentile in JEE Main, you have a strong chance of getting into good NITs, but admission to National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli depends on your category, home state quota, branch preference, and yearly cutoff trends. For highly competitive branches like CSE at NIT Trichy
