- Qualifier Preparation: The qualifier process includes four weeks of coursework based on lecture videos, assignments, and live sessions of the four foundational level courses - English I, Mathematics for Data Science I, Statistics for Data Science I, and Computational Thinking - that will be provided through our online portal. - Qualifier Exam: At the end of the four weeks, a qualifier exam will be conducted for eligible candidates based on the content covered in the four weeks of study.

Candidates who get admission to the IIT Madras BSc course are required to pay the fees apart from the tuition fees. STEP 1: Application Process
Fill out the JEE Main application form for admission to the BSc programme and IISER Aptitude Test application form for admission to the dual degree BS plus MS programme.
STEP 2: Selection Process
Admission to the BSc programme is offered in two modes, either via Regular entry or through an entrance exam.
- Admission via regular entry*:
- Qualifier Preparation: The qualifier process includes four weeks of coursework based on lecture videos, assignments, and live sessions that will be provided through online portal. Every week an assignment must be submitted for grading.
- Qualifier Exam: At the end of the four weeks, a qualifier exam will be conducted for eligible candidates.
- Admission via entrance exam:
Candidates must qualify and submit the score of current year JEE.
STEP 3: Counselling and Admission Confirmation
The institute then declares the merit list and the shortlisted candidates are called to appear for the counselling process who must then pay the IIT Madras BSc fees.

IIT Madras BSc admission dates have not been announced by the institute for the academic year 2026yet. However, the IISER Aptitude Test is usually held in June for the BS-MS dual degree programme, and the results for the IISER Aptitude Test will tentatively be declared in July.
IIT Madras BSc admission 2024 is entirely entrance-based. To get admission to the BSc programme offered at Indian Institute of Technology Madras, candidates must appear for the JEE Main and/ or IISER Aptitude Test (for admission to the dual degree BS plus MS programme). Candidates are also required to meet the minimum eligibility criteria of a minimum of 75% aggregate in Class 12 or equivalent examination.
The median and average package recorded during IIT Madras BTech EE placements 2025 was 22.5 LPA and 28.8 LPA. In BTech Dual EE branch, median and average package stood at 38.2 LPA and 43.5 LPA. In M.Tech EE, median and average package was 22.1 LPA and 24.4 LPA.

EE branch recorded the best placement during IIT Madras MS placements 2025. The median and average package received in EE branch was 24 LPA and 26.5 LPA. It was followed by CS branch wherein the average and median package received was 22.2 LPA and 21.9 LPA.
