IIT Madras BTech Eligibility & Highlights 2025
BTech at IIT Madras is a four-year programme offered across 32 specialisations in full-time mode. Some of the specialisations include BTech CSE, BTech Chemical Engineering, BTech Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, etc. Admission to IIT Madras BTech courses is completely entrance-based. The institute also offers a five-year integrated course of BTech + MTech in four other specialisations. IIT Chennai admission 2025 for both courses is done through a common process.
IIT Madras BTech admission is based on the JEE Main, followed by the JEE Advanced score. The centralised counselling process is managed and regulated by the JoSAA, based on which candidates are allotted seats. The seat allotment is based on the institute cut-off and a candidate's preference for courses and colleges. The registration and choice filling of JoSAA 2024 generally begins in the third week of June in online mode.

Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one cannot afford to score less than this. Yes, COAP registration is mandatory for IIT Madras admissions done on the basis of GATE exam. The institute accepts GATE + COAP for both M.Tech and MA admissions. Any student choosing to register via GATE score at the institute must register on COAP portal as well.
