IIT Roorkee eligibility is different for each course. Students have to meet the basic eligibility to get admission in the institute. The general eligibility is as below:

The library was established in 1848. The library is spread across an 85,000 sq. ft. area. It is a four-storeyed building. IIT Roorkee library has a rich collection of more than 3,20,000 documents, CD-ROMs, Online databases, audio-video material, standards, specifications, theses, reports etc. It also has access to more than 8000 electronic journals.

General AI category students need a rank of at least 2269 to be considered eligible for admission. To know the highest rank acceptable for the BTech Electrical Engineering course, candidates can check the table below.

OBC AI category ranged from 312 to 7464 in the last round for the OBC category under the All India quota. For BTech CSE and AI and DS, the highest acceptable ranks were 312 and 433, respectively. Hence, a rank of 300 might be good enough to be eligible for admission to the above-mentioned programmes.
In 2026 admission, the maximum rank required in UCEED was 24 among the SC category for B.Des admission. Hence, 75 is not considered a good rank in UCEED for B.Des admission at IIT Roorkee for SC AI category students.
Yes, students can get admission in IIT Roorkee without JEE scores. But, this is possible for non-BTech courses, such as MSc, MBA, M.Arch, BArch, etc. If students are seeking BTech admission, then JEE scores are mandatory.

Students may get admission in IIT Roorkee with 80% in Class 12 as the minimum aggregate ranges between 50% to 75% in Class 12 boards. However, admissions to the programmes at IIT Roorkee are done on entrance basis. Hence, Class 12 marks are not enough. Students also need to have valid entrance test scores.
IIT Roorkee admission to its flagship courses BArch and BTech is based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced Counselling. For admission, students are required to apply for both JEE Main and JEE Advanced for admission to IIT Roorkee BTech. The aspirants must fill out the application form for JEE (Main) through the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) (nta.ac.in).
Followed by JEE Main, students are required to register for JEE Advanced. Next, candidates have to fill in the registration form, upload scanned certificates, and pay the application fee. The photo and signature in the online JEE Advanced application form will already be populated from the JEE Main application form.

No, students do not have to apply separately at IIT Roorkee website after JoSAA counselling. This is because the institute follows a common admission process for its BTech course just like the other IITs. Shortlisted students who get a seat through the JoSAA counselling, simply need to report for document verification and pay the acceptance fees.
