Presently, IIT Roorkee offers more than 65 UG, PG and doctoral degree courses. It awards the degree of BTech, MTech, MSc, BArch, MBA, MSc, PhD along with a couple of integrated and dual degree courses in the fields of Engineering, Science, Architecture, Management and Social Sciences. Students may get admission in IIT Roorkee with 80% in Class 12 as the minimum aggregate ranges between 50% to 75% in Class 12 boards. However, admissions to the programmes at IIT Roorkee are done on entrance basis. Hence, Class 12 marks are not enough. Students also need to have valid entrance test scores.
Yes, students can get admission in IIT Roorkee without JEE scores. But, this is possible for non-BTech courses, such as MSc, MBA, M.Arch, BArch, etc. If students are seeking BTech admission, then JEE scores are mandatory.
No, students do not have to apply separately at IIT Roorkee website after JoSAA counselling. This is because the institute follows a common admission process for its BTech course just like the other IITs. Shortlisted students who get a seat through the JoSAA counselling, simply need to report for document verification and pay the acceptance fees. All the details of the students will be forwarded to IIT Roorkee by JoSAA directly. Information about the orientation, fee payment, and hostel allocation will be mailed online.
IIT Roorkee accepts the UCEED entrance exam scores, followed by its counselling process for admission to BDes courses. So, to get a seat at the IIT Roorkee B.Des course, candidates must have a valid score to be eligible for the counselling process. For the General AI category students, the maximum UCEED cutoff rank required for admission was 90.

In 2026 admission, the maximum rank required in UCEED was 24 among the SC category for B.Des admission. Hence, 75 is not considered a good rank in UCEED for B.Des admission at IIT Roorkee for SC AI category students.
OBC AI category ranged from 312 to 7464 in the last round for the OBC category under the All India quota. For BTech CSE and AI and DS, the highest acceptable ranks were 312 and 433, respectively. Hence, a rank of 300 might be good enough to be eligible for admission to the above-mentioned programmes.
