IIT BHU Placements 2026: Highest Package, Average Package, Top Companies

IIT BHU has maintained consistent placement record over the past two years. In past two years, the highest package has gone above INR 1 Crore per annum. The average recorded in 2026 and 2025 was 29 LPA and 24.49 LPA.

A total of 292 PPOs were made during IIT BHU placements 2026. In 2025, 297 Pre-Placement offers were made.

Yes, IIT BHU offers international placements to its students. During the placement drive 2025, out of 1416 offers made, 4 were international offers. The highest international package in 2025 was INR 2.2 Crore per annum.

After JEE session 2 is completed, only those candidates who are aiming for IITs need to start preparing for JEE Advanced after clearing JEE Main. Those who are above the 98th percentile should start preparing for JEE Advanced as soon as possible. Yes, IIT BHU offers Merit-cum-Means scholarships to 25% undergraduate students. Besides, there are several endowment scholarships offered by the Institute. Some other facilities are also provided to undergraduate students in the form of Institute free studentship, scholarships, reimbursement of mess charges and pocket allowances to the students belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. All the students (non-sponsored) admitted to M.Tech or MPharm programmes are provided financial assistance equivalent to the Junior Research Fellowships. The institute also offers a large number of Junior/Senior Research Fellowships to students admitted to PhD programmes.

As part of the admission procedure, the prospective candidates must also take a Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). However, BTech qualified in IITs with an overall CGPA of 8.00 or above in 10 point scale are exempted with regard to the GATE and are directly eligible to the process. It is also worth mentioning that the minimum eligibility requirements are as well mandatory to the candidates who would like to join IIT BHU MTech programme in 2025.

IIT BHU offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral-level courses in the fields of Engineering & Technology, Science, Architecture, and Pharmacy. Candidates need to fulfill the eligibility criteria to be able to apply for the IIT Varanasi courses. IIT BHU eligibility varies from course to course. At the UG level, the college offers BTech and other courses to students. At the PG level, the college offers MPharma, and other courses to students.

IIT BHU admissions are done solely on the basis of entrance tests as prescribed by the state/national norms. Students must appear for the entrance tests like JEE Main or JEE advanced for Engineering admissions. Candidates must note that admissions into the BTech CSE Branch are particularly competitive in India, with IIT BHU as no exception.

Other courses worth exploring can be MPharma, BArch, ME, among others. Other entrance tests accepted at IIT BHU include GPAT,  GATE,  ICAR AIEEA,  IIT JAM,  CUET PG, and others.

The hostel fee at IIT BHU is INR 300 per semester. This fee does not include electricity charges, Gymkhana, Medical, Amenities and other hostel services. A total of INR 5,000 (approx.) needs to be submitted during the admission to get a hostel and other facilities. The institute has 16 hostels for boys and girls separately.

IIT BHU does provide combined programmes of BTech and M.Tech in many specialisation. These programmes enable the students to pursue both their undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in a combined format. The admission requirements to such integrated courses frequently have a minimum of 75% board examination marks (or equivalent) in Class 12 (or equivalent) besides other conditions.

Candidates who have BE/BTech/MSc or equivalent with (a) CGPA 6.00 on a 10-point scale or 60% marks in aggregate for General/OBC (Non Creamy Layer)/EWS. Category with valid GATE score BTech from IITs with CGPA of 8.00 without GATE are also eligible for admission. AMIE / Grad. IETE are eligible for the M.Tech programme at IIT BHU.
