B.E. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2023
5.0
Review of MITE - Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering.
Placements: 75-80% percent of students are placed in my course. The highest package offered is 9 LPA. The lowest package offered is 4 LPA. And average package offered is 6 LPA. The recruiting companies are Tata Group and General Motors. Top roles like tool engineer; around 65% percent of students got internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities are excellent in the college. The college provides Wi-Fi with high-speed internet connection. The labs are well-equipped, the classrooms are very big, and 2 seminar halls are available. All books are available in the library. The hostel facilities are good. Canteen food is good.
Faculty: The teachers are well-qualified. They have 10 years of experience. They have completed their Masters and are extraordinarily knowledgeable. They teach in a good manner. All the teachers are very good. The course curriculum is superb. The semester exams are easy in this college, and 70% is the pass percentage.

I would recommend students to join this college.
Placements: Almost 80-95% of students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered ranges from 5 LPA to 6 LPA. The lowest salary package offered ranges between 2 and 3 LPA. Wipro, Samsung, Airtel, etc., were the top recruiting companies.
Infrastructure: Our classrooms were spacious and well-ventilated. Digital projectors were available for presentations. There was a huge library for students. The canteen and mess facilities were good. The food quality was good at affordable prices, and food delivery was also available.
Faculty: All teachers and non-teaching staff members were very knowledgeable. The teaching method was better. Semester exams were difficult, and the passing percentage was 35%.

I had a wonderful 4 years of experience.
Placements: Even during the pandemic, almost 50% of the students got placed from here. The highest salary package offered is unknown. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Bosch and Autoliv had visited the campus. Every student got an internship as it was compulsory. Graduate engineer trainee was the highest role offered.
Infrastructure: The classrooms and library were air-conditioned and were best in class here. Wi-Fi access was limited. The hostel was the best with an attached bathroom. There were 2 and 3 sharing options. The mess also serves food on time. The campus had a gym facility, and it also had a visiting doctor.
Faculty: The teachers here were adequately qualified. Their teaching quality was good. The course curriculum is prescribed by VTU, and hence it's the same for all engineering colleges. A few new subject electives were relevant to current industry trends. The difficulty of exams was high and low depending on the subject. The pass percentage was above average.
Other: I chose this course because mechanical engineering is evergreen. The best thing about this course was the amount of problem-solving involved. More practicals need to be included in this course, and the curriculum must give equal weightage to all activities instead of only final exams. The fest was the best part of the college. It had lots of celebrity concerts and was an enjoyable experience.

I am satisfied with the good placements, infrastructure, and facilities.
Placements: The percent of students placed in our college is good, but not in all branches especially in the mechanical branch. We have a special Japan salary package where students go to places like Japan and other countries where the salary package offered starts around 4 LPA.
Infrastructure: The hostel is neat and tidy. We have a laundry facility and good hostel food. Being a student these are mandatory in any hostel. The cleanliness is up to the point, and wardens are always there. Security guards are a bit overrated cause they act unusually. Overall it is fantastic.
Faculty: Faculty members are sometimes good sometimes worst. But there is no discrimination among students. The helping staff is of very use. Professors are of high potential and people making use of them can take a lot of advantages to a great extend.
Other: Our college is a bit strict.

Review of MITE - Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering.
Placements: It is a good college for software engineers but is bad for mechanical, and civil engineers. The college is not fair as it takes 200 mechanical engineering students every year if they can't even place 30 in core companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good, but you can't study in air-conditioned classrooms before exams. All the air-conditioners were switched off by the management during breaks. We were supposed to sit during breaks without air-conditioners and have lunch in a classroom without windows.
Faculty: Colleges affiliated to VTU are concerned about completing portions and nothing else. I won't blame lecturers but never join VTU as they are interested in completing the assignments which give zero knowledge. The college should give us quality assignments, and not quantity.
Other: Extracurricular activities like Baja, Formula, etc., were organised and I like them. But it was not possible for day scholars.

MITE is an average engineering college.
Placements: About 75% of the students from our course got placed. The highest salary package offered in the year 2020 is 21 L PA. Many companies like Volvo, KPIT, Infosys, Robosoft, Tata, Mercedes Benz, etc., visit the college for placements. The internship opportunities in our college are good. Many top companies, like Tata, Infosys, Bosch, Siemens, etc., visit our college to hire students for an internship. About 80% of the students from our course got an internship at the college. Top roles like mechanical design engineer, sales, marketing, business analyst and supply chain engineer are offered to the students.
Infrastructure: Facilities available in our college are very good. Our college provides facilities like Wi-Fi, laboratories, well-spaced labs, playground, library, a lounge, lifts, mess and a garden. The quality of all facilities are good, and all the facilities are up to date. The hostel facility is good. Food served to the students is average. A gym facility is available for hostel students.
Faculty: The course curriculum is very effective and updated. The college focuses on academics with strictness. It makes sure that every student passes with good grades at the attention. Faculty members in our college are well-experienced, well-educated, well-cultured and friendly. They are always available to us.
Other: I have chosen this course because of my interest in automation. The campus life is amazing, and when it comes about fests. Our college organises the best fests in Bangalore. Our college organises the fest named Senstia every year. Bollywood singers perform on the fest, and it is enjoyable.

Infrastructure and facilities are good. Placements are quite good.
Placements: About 500 students get placed every year. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Bosch, Mahindra, etc., visit our campus for placements. The highest salary package offered is about 5 to 6 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 1.2 LPA. Intershala offers internships, or we should find out ourselves for an internship in any company.
Infrastructure: Facilities in our college are good. The library is huge and equipped with many books. The campus is huge and lush green. There is a huge cricket ground, basketball ground, badminton ground. Classrooms are equipped with air-conditioners after the 1st year. Labs are very good and well-maintained. The hostel is very good. There is air-conditioner and non-air-conditioner facility available. The college imposes strict rules, and that should be followed.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very good and well-qualified. They help us in any situations. They are very friendly and share good knowledge with us. Teaching is very good for mechanical branch, and I don't know about others. Students are not much industry-ready, but somewhat they will make you industry-ready. We should also study other things extra from online so that we are up to date.
Other: I have chosen this course as I like mechanics. Labs are best. The course should be updated so that we can learn about nowadays mechanics. The biggest fest, called Sentia, is organised in our college every year in March. Other functions like branch entry, freshers day, Onam, tech talks, workshops, IoTs, etc., are organised here.

I am not satisfied with the method in which they are teaching us, and it is too old for us.
Placements: Nearly 10% of the students got placed in our course. The highest salary offered was about Rs. 2,00,000 per month, the lowest salary offered was about Rs. 25,000 per month and the average salary offered was about Rs. 40,000 per month. Top recruiting companies are Mahindra, Infosys. The top roles offered were manager, executor etc. The highest salary package offered was 10 LPA for eight students, the lowest salary package offered was about 2 LPA for eight students, and the average salary package offered was about 4 LPA for eight people. Every student gets an internship from companies like Mahindra, Tata and some local industry.
Infrastructure: MITE college consists of three buildings, one of them was the main building, the other one is a post-graduation block, and the last one was a mechanical block. The infrastructure is good, and classrooms are air-conditioned, and there is a projector facility. Wi-Fi facility is not available. Libraries and labs are available and are in good condition. The facilities provided in the hostel are good, but the quality of the food is just okay. Medical facilities are available, sports and games are conducting only once that is on sports day.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified. But some teachers threaten the students by not giving attendance and holding back the student marks. The teaching quality is good, but I feel it's an old method to study in this condition. The course curriculum is relevant, but it doesn't make students industry-ready. The activities like internships, the industrial visit makes them industry-ready.
