It is the best college for designing courses.
Placements: You will definitely get a job after being graduated from NIFT, and your portfolio and skills matters. NIFT is a brand, and being a student of this college helps a lot in getting placed, unlike other designing colleges, which you pay a hefty amount for, but you hardly get a job.
Infrastructure: For fashion communication students, there are separate labs with all the apple devices from the keyboard, mouse to screen, which gives a lot of exposure to a fashion communication student. The hostels are also good to go as the view from the hostel is amazing.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are amazing, especially faculty for FD, FC and TD courses are amazing. They are the perfect combination of teachers, parents and friends, which you will find in some teachers. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students' industry-ready. The semester exam system is not conducted here, as it has a jury system.

Review of NiFT kangra and it's life.
Placements: A lot of companies approach NIFT. But the placement camps are set in metropolitan areas that's why, students from other campuses have to go to the campuses in metro cities for that. The placements are given on the basis of merits and not campus, so the good portfolios win.
Infrastructure: The quality has been worked upon and thus is getting better. The music room, library, labs, everything is getting better as there are new wings being developed for everything including an in house cafe. There are two mess for 6 hostel wings. So, students can go to whichever one is close.
Faculty: The teachers are great but curriculum can be improved upon. For certain courses the curriculum doesn't provide as much exposure and industry experience, as much required. Also, taking up extra subjects is kind of an inconvenience as they were introduced to lighten the academic burden but have become a burden themselves.
Other: Campus fests are great and definitely something to look forward to.

It is a great college with good placement opportunities. It is located in a beautiful place.
Placements: Placements in our college are decent. For our seniors, the placements were good. The average salary package offered was around 4 LPA, the lowest salary package offered was 3 LPA, and the highest salary package offered was around 7-8 LPA. Placements are held in Delhi NCR area. Initially, the salary offered is low, but if you have experience of more than two years, you will surely bag a good salary package.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is not much good, as the college was established just 9 years ago. Basic facilities are available, like huge and air-conditioned classrooms. Food served in the canteen is satisfactory. Hostel rooms are well-maintained. It is a peaceful place, and you can see some amazing views of hills from the campus.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and helpful, and most of them are the alumni of our college. They use practical teaching methods like presentations and also verbal. The student to faculty ratio is 30:1. Industry exposure is provided by the faculty in Delhi. The course curriculum is very useful.

My college was an amazing experience of my life. I will do it again if I get a chance.
Placements: There weren't any good companies at our campus for placements. But, the off-campus demand is pretty good. You will get the job no matter how and where. Almost everywhere, we can see something creative these days, and where there is creativity, there is a new idea. To do that job, people need students/guys like us (design graduates). They are ready to pay you a good amount of money. You just have to prove your worth to them.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is fine as the campus placed in mountains, it is really good. The students have their chilling spots and A/C classrooms, everything they require. It is a peaceful place, and I basically loved it, not to ignore the view of the beautiful Dhauladhar range.
Faculty: The faculty of my subjects were not good at all. They knew nothing and also kept personal grudges with the students at times. Whereas, rest of the faculty members are really nice and open to ideas given by children. The curriculum is good. But, the matter is how and with what perception and idea, the teachers are teaching it to you. The clarity in every subject is really important. So, the teacher needs to work on that.

It is a good campus with very supporting and good teachers and staff members.
Placements: Most of the times, students are judged on the basis of their portfolios and personal creativity and after that marks. Our seniors got very good placements. Some of them are working with renowned fashion designers like Sabyasachi. It all depends on our personal calibre.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not excellent but good. The environment is very good. The library provides all the facilities and books are awesome. All the classrooms have A/C. The medical facilities are also provided. Food in the canteen is satisfying, and hostel rooms are also well maintained.
Faculty: All the faculty members are highly qualified and professional. The course curriculum is very good which starts with the basic understanding of design in foundation programme. In the 2nd year, you can join your chosen course and study specialisation in it. There are many trades which offer different courses in B.des like fashion communication, accessory design, textile design, fashion design and leather design.
Other: Many events are organised like spectrum food fest Durga pooja in which all students participate actively. Along with that, the Converge (an event of all NIFT centres) is held every year.

Other: The college still has a very long way to go. Being only a few batches old, it is yet to establish a solid campus culture. Also, the infrastructure being built at a slow rate hampers education for students a lot. Further, Kangra as a city doesn't provide a very good environment for fashion education. The good side is that there is McLeod Ganj close by which can serve as a great place to inspire designers, and also add something different to their portfolios (eg. Landscape and fashion photography portfolios of NIFT Kangra students enjoy the luxury of picturesque locations which other NIFTs miss). It's a great place for Textile Design too. Moreover, being close to Delhi, guest faculty members do come for few lectures. Guest houses for them are poorly managed, which sometimes makes them not want to come back. All in all, NIFT Kangra can do a lot if it speeds up campus construction, tweaks the administration a little and try building a healthy campus culture. Lastly, design isn't a field dependent solely on the college you go to. So if you really have the passion, you'll train yourself as a designer.
