B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2029

Not the best placements (but in rate it's 100 percent in my branch) but a very good college.
Placements: Placements majorly depend upon the branch we choose, but ignoring branches here placements are almost more than good. For tech branches like CS, IT, ECE, we have highest packages, and for core like Mechanical, Civil, Biotech we also have comparatively good packages.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is the best thing in the college. Every day I go to my college from hostel and see all the buildings and so much luxurious classrooms, my heart fills with happiness that I'm at a very best place for 4 years of my graduation. The surroundings are clean and there are little extreme climate conditions though.
Faculty: Faculty are not best but some are very kind and have a very good nature, but some are little bit strict. At the end every teacher always wants the best for their students. Though their way of teaching studies or manners may vary, overall the exam curriculum and teachers are very good here.
Other: In Mechanical Engineering, it's involved with a lot of physics and if you are interested in physics please do take this branch. It'll be very interesting and effective too as in tech field in today's generation jobs are not at all secured. And having a core branch degree is going to boost your career later on if you are loyal to your branch.

College has really good placement and infrastructure. Even the behaviour of staff is good.
Placements: I'm a B. Tech student in NIT Jalandhar from ICE Branch. I'm going to share the placements of 2025 batch. In 2025, 100 percent students are placed in the company. Not only this year, in 2024 also 100 percent students get placed. The maximum package of ICE Branch in 2025 is 52 LPA which is given by MICROSOFT. The average is 10.67 LPA with median approximately 7 LPA. The lowest package is approximately 4 LPA.
Infrastructure: If we talk about the infrastructure, the infrastructure is quite good. The campus is spread in 152 acres. Each department has its own building. Classrooms are good but there are some old classrooms as well. But each classroom is filled with facilities like projector, AC, even some new classrooms have digital boards and Television. If we talk about Hostel, each hostel has different management. Hostel infrastructure is decent with decent food quality. Campus also has a dispensary and ambulance for students. For sports, there are a lot of different sports grounds.
Faculty: The teachers they provide are knowledgeable but some teachers don't know how to pass the knowledge to students. But some teachers are brilliant in teaching. Course curriculum is relevant. But for industry ready we have to join some clubs. Semester exams are not that much tough.
Other: I am interested in machines but also interested in some coding, that's why I choose this branch because I get both opportunities to get core or teach job.

It has a big green campus with good classrooms. Placements are good.
Placements: The placement record of NIT Jalandhar is good. Approximately 90% of eligible students got placed. The top recruiting companies are Amazon and Google. More than half of the students got internships in top companies. Roles offered are as a web developer, cloud manager, and cybersecurity engineer.
Infrastructure: There is a separate building for the CSE branch in the college. Many options are available in the college for food and snacks if you do not enjoy the hostel meal. The buildings are new, well-maintained, and contain lifts. For every course, there are separate labs, and the instruments in the labs are new. There is a slight problem that the hostel rooms for two are very small, but every room contains a balcony, and the view from the balcony is good. The food in the hostel is average. Sometimes it is very good, and sometimes it is okay.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and have excellent knowledge with good teaching quality. There is a separate building for the CSE branch in the college. The buildings are new, well-maintained, and contain lifts. For every course, there are separate labs, and the instruments in the labs are new.

The placements are getting better year by year. The college life is also awesome.
Placements: The placement percentage is 100 percent for the eligible students, however, the numbers are not that good. The highest placement package on campus is 18 LPA for the branch Industrial and Production Engineering. The lowest package is 4 LPA, and the average is 8–9 LPA. The top recruiting company is Trident. The top roles that are offered are basically in the research and development department, but one can also excel in other fields by having good knowledge and practice for that particular field.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is awesome, simply mind-blowing. There are no issues regarding the infrastructure of classrooms, library, etc. However, the infrastructure of hostels for first-year students is not that good. The hostels are very basic, they provide one bed and a chair-table for one person and a cupboard/almirah for clothes. The quality of food is decent; the chapattis are very bad to eat, but the other items and menu rotation are good. The canteen of our college is average, not great in taste, however, Domino’s and Nescafe provide great taste and quality of food.
Faculty: The teachers are very qualified and helpful, and their way of teaching is also good. If we exclude some of the faculty members, then we can say that teaching quality is good overall. The curriculum of the course is relevant and makes the student industry-ready. The semester exams are tough; students have to work hard to pass the semester exams with good grades. Otherwise, the copy checking is a bit strict, which doesn’t give easy marks to students.

Core placements are not satisfying, but everything else is top notch. Sports and cultural.
Placements: Placements in the civil department are not very good. You receive fewer core opportunities on campus, but there is scope in non-core roles. People do get placed. The average package is 7.5 LPA, and the highest goes up to 20 LPA, which is in tech. You have to prepare for placements yourself. The college curriculum does not help much here.
Infrastructure: The department building has all the facilities needed. You can reach out to any faculty member for help, as they are really friendly. Hostels are decent, and the mess food is good enough. First-year hostels have a badminton court and a volleyball court. There are three boys’ hostels and two girls’ hostels for first-year students.
Faculty: Faculty members are really great. They are highly qualified professionals with several years of experience. They are mostly approachable. The curriculum of the course is decently hard. You can pass the exam only after studying properly. You need to know what is in the syllabus; otherwise, you will fail. Practical labs are all working and in good condition.
Other: Events are held regularly on campus, where regional celebrities are invited occasionally. The fest is also good; you will experience it yourself.

Faculty is average, placements are going up, and infrastructure and facilities are good for the cost
Placements: My course hasn't produced a batch eligible for placements as it started in 2023. The first batch is in its 3rd year. But we can say that the placements will be almost equal to the CSE branch. The CSE department had an average placement of 15 LPA last year and the highest package of around 50-60 LPA. The placement percentage is around 90-95%.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good in my opinion. The classes are well-equipped with projectors and smart boards. Its one of the benefits of government institutes. There's Wi-Fi everywhere on campus. The library is also newly made and very comfortable. The hostel we got in our first year is actually very good. The food is actually good, and everything else is too, the facilities for outdoor and indoor games are enough, there's a computer room with high end PC's. There's only one downside to this, that we have to share a room with 3 other guys, but we get used to it soon.
Faculty: The faculty is kind of hit or miss. My Maths professor and EEEE proof, both we pretty bad. It is impossible to understand what they taught. The rest are actually pretty good. I'm not sure if the curriculum makes us industry-ready, the industry is changing exponentially. The semester exams are pretty easy, 7.5 CGPA is manageable without studying.
Other: Data Science is the future, it certainly has a lot of scope. I wish the course had started earlier, it's a very new course, so we don't really know anything about placements or anything. The course is under the CSE department, so that's one thing that could change. They can make DSE a separate department. The events are regular, and the fests are somewhat good. It's a typical NIT thing. The campus crowd is decent. The connectivity is actually very bad, the campus is totally separate from the city of Jalandhar.
