Great coding culture in MnC.
Placements: The Mathematics and Computing branch here is treated on par with CSE by top recruiters. Seniors secure excellent SDE and Quant roles at major tech and fintech firms. The campus coding culture is highly competitive, leading to great internship and placement rates.
Infrastructure: The academic blocks and labs have reliable Wi-Fi. The central library is excellent for studying. Hostel facilities are decent, and the mess food is average but manageable. The best part of hostel life is the student-run night canteens for late-night cravings.
Faculty: The MnC curriculum is a perfect blend of theoretical mathematics and core computer science. It is highly relevant for industry roles. Faculty is qualified and helpful. Semester exams are moderately difficult and require consistent self-study to maintain a good CGPA.
Other: I chose Mathematics and Computing because it perfectly blends deep mathematical logic with core computer science. which is ideal for SDE and tech careers. The best part is our highly competitive, coding-focused peer group. One thing to improve would be making some of the purely theoretical math courses more applied. Campus life is amazing. Along with active clubs, tech fests, and events like TEDx. The crowd is diverse and motivated. There are great opportunities to build personal projects or start campus initiatives.

Placements, infrastructure and facilities are good. Some faculty are good but not everyone.
Placements: The placement percentage in CSE is 94.48%. The highest package is 54 LPA. The lowest package is 3.6 LPA. The median package is 12.5. The average package is 15.83. Top recruiting companies are Amazon and Microsoft; 5-10% have got internships at Google and Amazon. Overall average is 9.78 LPA.
Infrastructure: The facilities overall are good. The Wi-Fi facilities are available both in hostels and labs but not in theory classrooms. There are also air coolers and heaters inside the classroom because of the very high and low temperatures in Jalandhar. There is also a study place in a 3-story building and a library. Hostel food facilities are not so good but edible. There are washing machines also. There are also sports teams here that practice every day. They are also quite competent for the NIT sports meet, and there is good scope in sports. There are also sports teachers for some sports like athletics but not in every sport.
Faculty: Some of the teachers teach very well and at the same time give a very hard question paper. The question paper given in mid-sem is easy compared to end-sem. Quizzes are also hard even if they are MCQs. They have also added design thinking in the course to develop the ability to make innovative ideas and to work in a group. We are also given projects in the 2nd semester itself.
Other: I have chosen computer science engineering because I have an interest in coding and feel the need to learn more about it. I wish that the course should be a little updated because it is from 2018 or 2019. I think in winter there are fewer events compared to summer. Due to the cold, it is sometimes difficult to go to class in January. There are programs on every Saturday and Sunday. At first, it was interesting to roam around the campus, but because of its small size, it became boring to roam. However, the campus is very beautiful with trees and good infrastructure.

It has a big green campus with good classrooms. Placements are good.
Placements: The placement record of NIT Jalandhar is good. Approximately 90% of eligible students got placed. The top recruiting companies are Amazon and Google. More than half of the students got internships in top companies. Roles offered are as a web developer, cloud manager, and cybersecurity engineer.
Infrastructure: There is a separate building for the CSE branch in the college. Many options are available in the college for food and snacks if you do not enjoy the hostel meal. The buildings are new, well-maintained, and contain lifts. For every course, there are separate labs, and the instruments in the labs are new. There is a slight problem that the hostel rooms for two are very small, but every room contains a balcony, and the view from the balcony is good. The food in the hostel is average. Sometimes it is very good, and sometimes it is okay.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and have excellent knowledge with good teaching quality. There is a separate building for the CSE branch in the college. The buildings are new, well-maintained, and contain lifts. For every course, there are separate labs, and the instruments in the labs are new.

Overall, college is good.
Placements: There is a good score above 90 percent for the placed students in the CSE batch. The highest package is 52 LPA, and the average package is 13 LPA - 14 LPA. Top recruiter is Microsoft. Around 60% of students got internships in companies like Google, Amazon, Optum, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure for our department is very good with all facilities like library, Wi-Fi, labs, etc. Overall, quality of hostel is very good at college with various facilities. Mess food is also good in canteen too. It has good medical facilities and sports.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and helpful too. Teaching quality is good. Course curriculum is relevant like the courses offered but some courses seem irrelevant. It is moderate and depends on the type of exams like mid-semester or end-semester.

College life at National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar.
Placements: Before 2025, the placement ratio is 90% in CSE. I think due to AI, the placements are going to be decreased soon. The highest package offered is 52 LPA. Companies like Microsoft and Google visited our college last year. The internship ratio is also mid.
Infrastructure: All facilities are very good, in the first year, we will feel the college like our home. There is 24x7 Wi-Fi for us and the same for the library. There are two libraries on campus and both are with AC. Food quality is also good but after the first year, we will realise, the quality of food is not good.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is very good but after hustling in JEE, we don't want to study all root learning subjects. According to the Indian education system, we have to study only root learning subjects in the first year.

It is a decent college with an average JEE Main rank.
Placements: I'm currently in the first year, but as we always stay connected with our seniors we get to know various things related to placements. Up to my knowledge in the CSE branch, placements are decent in my college with the average package of 14 LPA and the highest package is 52 LPA this year. The highest package is offered by Google. Students got many offers from other top MNCs like Amazon and Microsoft as well. All these companies hire for the software developed engineer post. About 80% of students got internships in their 3rd year in top companies like Microsoft, Amazon, etc.
Infrastructure: My department building is new, but it is not at that level of what it should be. The old library is not that good but the new one is better but doesn't have books as it is for self-study purposes. Hostel food is okay but rooms are congested. Hostels have 4 sharing rooms for 1st-year students.
Faculty: All teachers are PhD holders and have great knowledge in their respective fields except some. The course curriculum is fine and is according to the NEP 2020 also it is similar to what other colleges have. Semester exams are easy and we hardly study 1-2 days before semester exams.
Other: I am interested in computer science technologies and more into AI and ML, so I chose the CSE course. A more practical and handful learning can enhance students' skills required to get their dream job or role. Fests and co-curricular activities are amazing here and we all get the chance to dive deep into each other culture and learn about their traditional festivals which we all celebrate with joy.

Green campus and nice exposure.
Placements: Around 75% of students got placed in my course. Cisco, Flipkart, Infosys, and other companies come here for placement hiring. There is a special consideration for female candidates also. The positions of database analysts and AI trainers are seen to be more important.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this college when compared to other NITs is quite different. Classrooms, library, and all associated buildings have well-maintained facilities. Hostels are also well-equipped and the mess food quality is okay. The campus has a dispensary to take care of medical facilities and supports sports too.
Faculty: Teachers are quite helpful when it comes to doubt clearance. The course syllabus keeps on changing for each batch to include updates. Semester exams are quite tough which increases the level of healthy competition. The total mark of 40 is required when adding up the whole of mid-semester, end-semester, and internals.
Other: I always had a passion for computer science. The exposure to NITJ has helped me to develop and grow my skills in computer science field. The campus holds two events cultural and technical fest.

NIT Jalandhar is better college and has a nice infrastructure.
Placements: Currently, placements are ongoing for 2025 batch. Approximately 70% of students get placed. The highest salary is 52 LPA given by Microsoft and Google. Recruiting companies are Google, Amazon, Oracle, MAQ Software, and Salesforce. Internships are very less but some companies come for internships like Google, Microsoft, and Amazon. Top roles offered by the companies are software development engineer, cloud engineer, and data analyst.
Infrastructure: Here for CSE department has its own building and is fully facilitated with AC rooms and labs. We have a Wi-Fi connection. There is a new library and also have old library. In the new library, there are approximately 500 computers for the students. Mess food quality is good compared to other NITs. In sports, we have basketball, cricket, and many more.
Faculty: Teachers are good. They are qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is also good. According to market change, the revoultion of AI courses has changed. Semester exams are medium to hard, you can easily pass if you pay attention in classes. Passing criteria should be atleast 40 for each subject in the semester out of 100
Other: I am interested in coding so I chose CSE. The best thing is that CSE courses are designed in such a waythat you can choose any skills
