B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering - Batch of 2027

An Honest Review of NITJ .
Placements: In my branch, as I am in Chemical Engineering in my final year, the placement percentage is 100%. It touched 100 last year, and I hope it does this year too. In the last batch, the highest placement was 52 LPA, and the lowest went in the range of 5-6 LPA. Top roles are tech jobs. Core companies give packages averaging 11 - 12 LPA, which is decent.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is pretty good. All the departments have separate buildings and centralized Air-Conditioning systems, and high-speed Wi-Fi. Talking about the hostel facilities, there are many hostels for boys: BH-1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and Mega Boys hostels MBH-A, B, F, E, and the facilities are good.
Faculty: Faculty is very helpful, and they teach really well. Some faculty members are strict, but the overall teaching environment is really good. Course curriculum is extremely relevant, and industry-centric subjects are also taught to students. Semester exams are not very difficult if we focus on the classes regularly. Passing marks are 40 out of 100 in every subject.
Other: I chose this course (Chemical Engineering) because since my 11th, I had an interest in Chemistry and how everything is made. The best thing about the course is that it has very helpful teachers in my department. There are some teachers who also help in securing internships for students in need. "Utkansh" fest takes place every year; it's a 4-day fest where all the clubs participate and organise competitions and events throughout.

Lively campus life and scope for improvement in industry exposure.
Placements: In chemical engineering, around 50% of students were placed in 2021. The highest package for chemical engineering was 16 LPA. The lowest package was 3 LPA. Average package was 5.5 LPA. Recruiting companies were Reliance and Trident. 20% of students got internships at Reliance, Trident, and IOCL. Junior engineer due to covid placement was less.
Infrastructure: NIT Jalandhar's chemical engineering department provided well-equipped labs, Wi-Fi, modern infrastructure, and good library. Hostel facilities were decent. Mess was very nice. Food was good. Rooms were clean in single room 2 occupancy for 2 years, 3 occupancy for 1st year, and 1 for 3rd and 4th year.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful. All teachers were Ph.D. qualified. They had good knowledge of the course. Course curriculum was relevant. Mostly for IOCL and production, IT subjects were there so students could take placement in IT industries. Passing percentage was 4 CGPA. Exams were average, not that much hard.
Other: You could take a course based on your marks in JEE exam. I have an interest in chemistry so I chose this course. Overall, you will enjoy here. It provided a nice experience. 2 major events happen every year.

My bright future with NITJ
Placements: There is a placement percentage of 95%+ of students in the college. The highest package is 15 LPA, and the average is 9 LPA. There is a TPO Placement Cell that invites new companies and helps in the placement of students of NIT Jalandhar. Our students work hard.
Infrastructure: Our hostel is good, and the food supply is also the best daily. Mess workers also serve food in proper ways. The whole mess system is completely good. The mess workers’ nature is also good, and their behavior with all the students is good. Food quality is also the best.
Faculty: Teachers completely help the students in their studies and make the students more proficient and the best. Semester exams are not very difficult, and the pass percentage is 90%+. All the teachers help the students solve doubts and assist in the placement procedure.
Other: There are so many events organized by the college for entertainment purposes.

Good rules and regulations.
Placements: In Chemical Engineering, NITJ achieved 100% placements in 2024, with an average package of 7.89 LPA. The highest package was 15.17 LPA at Amazon in the tech stream. Placements in all branches are above average, with good quality students and a good placement ratio.
Infrastructure: Some hostels are congested, but new hostels have enough space for students and good facilities. The rest of the infrastructure is fantastic, and there are grounds to play games, with an instructor for every game. The college organizes tournaments for each game.
Faculty: Faculty is strict in the classroom, but they are okay in behavior. The curriculum is set according to students' welfare, providing rest after exams and holidays for festivals. The college also runs various schemes like laptop loans with zero interest over four years.

I would definitely recommend to join this college. This is an NIT so you know what are the perks.
Placements: Almost 98% of students got placed in the Chemical Engineering department. The highest package of 35 LPA was offered by Microsoft. Reliance, Unacademy, and Microsoft are some companies that gave good placement packages. Almost every student got an internship. Mostly, companies hire for the role of UT, and some hire as SDE.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is available on the college campus, in classrooms, and in libraries. There are reading rooms too on the campus. Classrooms and labs are up-to-date and clean as well. Hostel rooms are good enough, with lush green campus surroundings. There is also a dispensary on the college campus. A gym and a gymnasium, both are there.
Faculty: Professors are very helpful. They teach relevant stuff. Assignments are helpful for exam preparation. Semester exams are not that tough. The course curriculum is modified as per the new education policy. Almost everyone got passed from our batch. Hardly one or two students got a backlog, especially in mathematics.
Other: I got this college on the basis of my JEE rank. Here, campus life is too much fun. There are lots of fests in the college. The vibrant Punjabi culture is too good to enjoy.

Review of Dr. BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar.
Placements: Our placement percentage vary from 90 to 100 percent of eligible student. Number of eligible students vary from 50 to 90 percent. So though states look good but actually eligible students are low. Our average package vary from 7.5 to 8.5 LPA with the lowest at 3.6 LPA and the highest as 20 or 40 LPA depending on batch. Top recruiting companies are reliance, BPCL Technip energy for core and for non teach Deloitte, Accenture, sprinkler etc. Number of internship in our course are generally lesser with most being unpaid with only few companies offer paid ones. Internship percentage is around 10 percent in 3rd year and around 30 - 40 percent in 4th year. Despite this, NIT offers us better placement opportunities than private institutes.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our institute is good. They do offer Wi-Fi facilities, which is around 60 mbps speed. Classrooms are well-equipped with smart boards, projectors and ACs. The institute has one central library where you can get books and two reading buildings where we can take our own study material for reading. The institute provides us with every type of indoor and outdoor sports facilities. The food in our hostel is average and has hygiene issues.
Faculty: Only a few of the teachers in our course (Chemical Engineering) are actually knowledgeable and helpful. The rest of them don't have adequate knowledge about their subject. They just read someone's notes and force the student to note them down. They try to skip students doubts by being judgmental to them. Unable to answer any doubt reasonably. If we use our own approach in exams, they are unable to understand it even easy-to-understand concepts and deduct marks for that. Lastly, they even threaten us that if we don't shape ourselves according to the teacher. We will never pass their subject in whole B.Tech. Not all the teachers are like that but the majority of them are like this only. The course curriculum is relevant but we need to learn things by ourselves. Most of the students in our batch are dependent on faculty for subject knowledge and don't read any books. This creates a bubble where faculty with no understanding about their subject teaches students, and due to the low reasoning ability of students, they can't differentiate between what concepts actually are and how the teacher has misinterpreted them. Generally, these students got the highest marks also with no understanding about the subject. Semester exams difficulty levels vary from low to medium. But marks in most subjects depend on whether we are approaching each question according to the teacher (high marks) or we use our own approach (mostly low marks because the teacher can't understand it even if the final answer is correct).
Other: I chose this course because of the better placement opportunities afforded by the NIT tag. However, I wish the faculty and students were more knowledgeable and had better reasoning skills. Unfortunately, our course, Chemical Engineering, lacks in these areas. For reference, compare it with IITs or even ordinary foreign institutes, and you'll see that we don't come close.

Our Campus is NIT.
Placements: About 70 percent placed in our college. The highest package in our campus is around 51 Lacs, and the lowest is 5 Lacs per annum. Like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, about 40 percent got GATE internships in our campus. Google jobs were also secured in our campus. Got good placement.
Infrastructure: Hostel was good with comfortable people, and the wardens are also good with us, prioritizing our safety. In our hostel, free Wi-Fi, hot water, and cupboards are provided. The mess was good. Sports are various in our college.
Faculty: The teachers are very good with us, for example, we are comfortable with them. The exam time for MST in our college is about 2 hours, and there are lab exams in our campus. The exams are quite good, and the pass percentage in our college is about 33 percent.
Other: Because my qualification is this one, I got in my JEE Main, so I chose this course.

NIT Jalandhar a good college.
Placements: The placement record is good, especially for my branch. Companies like BPCL and HPCL in the petro sector, and Colgate in the pharma sector, offer good packages in the range of 12 to 15 LPA. Teaching jobs are also available, but they require hard work.
Infrastructure: The two libraries are fully air-conditioned, and the classrooms and lecture theatres also have a centralized cooling system. The hostels are equipped with good Wi-Fi, and the college also has a centralized Wi-Fi system that provides connectivity throughout the campus.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and friendly. The teaching quality is good, and the exams are tough, but if we study, we will pass. The curriculum is relevant and in demand, and we have a lot of free time for our side hustles. The pass percentage is good in our college.
