B.Tech. in Textile Technology - Batch of 2029

NIT Jalandhar review 2026.
Placements: The Textile Technology department has an 80-90 percent placements this year. Most of the eligible students in the 26' batch got placed. The highest package is 18 LPA offered by Trident in core and 16 LPA by Amazon in tech. The average stood at around 5.8 LPA with companies like Vardhan Textile being the major mass recruiters. The roles majorly include the managerial and supervisor roles in textile mills and also managerial roles in non-core companies.
Infrastructure: Facilities are above average to good. The labs are well-equipped but some of the machinery in the laboratories is outdated and has not yet been replaced. Currently the department is undergoing renovation. The library is world-class. There are two libraries in the college one being the central or old library while the new library is just for study purpose. Both of them are fully air-conditioned and the old library has the book bank. The hostel is good but mostly old. The quality of the food is very decent both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is available.
Faculty: The senior professors are well-qualified and knowledgeable. The new faculty members are helpful but some lack industry-related knowledge. The teaching quality is okayish. The course is industry relevant it truly prepares a student for the textile industry and gives them enough knowledge to be industry-ready.
Other: Since all of the students are given merit-based admission, the college crowd is really good. This place can connect you with talented people and improve your overall personality. The college has good sports infrastructure and a team that regularly participates in inter-NIT tournaments. There are a lot of events that take place in the college and all of them are really fun and engaging. The college societies are also there for personality development.

Is NIT JALANDHAR worth it or not?
Placements: In my course, I. e. textile technology 80% of the students are placed. The highest package ordered was 18 LPA and average package was 7.70 LPA and the lowest package was 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Trident, Arvind, Reliance, Vardhaman. The percent of students getting internships is 70-80%, some internships are unpaid and some are paid. Paid internships are offered by Trident with the Stipend of ?50,000 per month, Reliance provides internship with stipend of ?40,000 per month, Vardhaman gives ?10,000 and MANTRA gives stipend of ?10,000 per month.
Infrastructure: The textile department is one of the oldest department in the NIT Jalandhar, in our department we have 6 labs like spinning lab, weaving lab, garment lab, advance garment lab, fiber lab, chemical processing lab. We have on library in our department with one seminar hall. The food quality in hostel is average, sports facilities are also available in our hostel. There is one dispensary in the campus which provides health facilities.
Faculty: The faculty is professional, helpful, and well qualified. Some teachers, which are senior, are strict but they are supportive. They are dedicated towards their work and they stress upon the betterment of their students. However, some professors, which are new in the department, are hill, friendly like if you have any problem whether in academics or personal life, you can discuss with them without any hesitation. We have faculty from different backgrounds, cultures, and states. They have different teaching style like those that new professors sick on PPTs while the old ones do emphasize on books and research papers but overall their teaching style is related to the changing and evolving advancements in the industry. There are two types of exam every semester one is mid sem and other is end sem, the difficult level of each subject exam depends upon the professors, like if senior professors are making question paper it will be tough whereas if the question paper is made by new professors it will be easier.
Other: Overall, campus life is good. There is technical and cultural fest, which happens every year. ? Utkansh? Is the cultural fest while? Techniti? Is the technical fest. In institute, there are various clubs based on different interests. We have dance clubs like criminal crew, SI crew, Bhangra club, for literature, we have LADC, Zeal, Rashtra Bhasha club, and Daksh is the technical club. We have food club, Bawre and Kalakaar are the dramatics club, and Praayas is the social club, Team cultural affair for event management, Octaves for music, Reverie for fashion technology, NETRA for photography. In the starting of every new batch, every club organizes their induction for letting the freshers to join various clubs. My overall experience at NIT Jalandhar is good. As I was AJEE aspirant, I was studying hard to get good marks in JEE. My JEE Main exam was cleared and I got 90 percentile. So according to it I had options for NIT. From the very starting, I was interested to pursue my B.Teach in the industry, production related engineering, and I was interested in Punjab culture. My father is also in Textile industry so I was also interested in Textile Engineering because of him. The top institute, which provides Engineering in the textile, is NIT Jalandhar. In the field of Textile Engineering, this institute provides good knowledge, scope, and placements. That? S why if someone is really passionate about their interest in thus industry, NIT Jalandhar is the must go option.

Good infrastructure and natural beauty.
Placements: 75% of students were placed in our course. The highest package was 18 LPA, the lowest was 4 LPA, and the average was 7.5 LPA. The top recruiting companies were Trident, Reliance, etc. 40% of students got internships in Trident companies; they were taught there how to work if they got placed there.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is okayish. WiFi is available in every class, lab, library, etc. The IT building is the only one that I admire because of the computer labs and machines. Also, our main building has a unique design in the hostel. Every room has 4 beds, 4 study tables, and mess food is good and comes in variety. Games and sports grounds are also available.
Faculty: Yes, teachers are graduates from IITs; they are helpful, knowledgeable and very interactive, making complex topics easy to understand and telling us newer ways to solve the problems. Midterms are difficult, especially departmental exams but in computer programming, 50% in the passing percentage.
Other: I chose this because I got this in JOSSA. The good thing about my course is better placement and secure future semesters. Difficulty should be improved. Events are held every month. Seniors and students are helpful and can also participate in extracurricular activities.

Some of the issues are the improper link between placement office and the industries because of which only some of the industries visit the college for textile.

Absolutely satisfied. The faculty is highly qualified, all holding PhDs. Placements are decent.
Placements: Around 90% of students who applied for placement got placed in textile engineering. The highest package is 18 LPA (on campus) and 66 LPA (off campus). The lowest package is around 6 lakhs, and the average package is 9.8 LPA. Trident, Reliance, and Amazon are the top recruiters. Around 60% of students get internships, and about 30% receive PPOs.
Infrastructure: The campus is lush green and beautiful, covering around 150 acres. The Wi-Fi speed is average and not very good. Classrooms and the library are fully air-conditioned. The hostel for first-year students is not very good, and the mess food is average. All types of sports are available in college, and the medical facilities are very good.
Faculty: All teachers are highly qualified, holding PhDs in their respective subjects. The faculty is very cooperative and helpful. The curriculum for the first year is moderate; if you study well, you will definitely get good grades. Semester exams are moderate, with around 55% of students receiving backlogs in computer programming.
Other: Textile technology has a huge scope in India in the future. The college also receives funding from the Ministry of Textiles. The college hosts many events every day.

The campus is very beautiful, and the environment is also very great.
Placements: Placement is average. The highest placement is 16 LPA by Trident, and the lowest placement is 5 LPA by Vedant. They are some good companies: Trident, Reliance, and Vardhaman core companies. You also have opportunities in the IT sector. Placement mainly depends on you; if you have good academics, then your opportunities increase. The average placement percentage for students is 70 to 80%.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is all good, with classrooms and good buildings for the department. However, there is average performance in sports infrastructure. There are also good canteens and a good environment on the campus. The whole campus is green, and really, it’s a beautiful campus.
Faculty: Difficulties are average, and there are some issues in communication with faculty members for South Indians due to language barriers and other factors. But after all, the education is good, and their methods of teaching students are also good. Everyone is focused and communicates well. Exams do not have a good pattern, and it is also difficult to manage the pattern of the examination.
Other: Everything is good, and if you are selected in this college, then you have opportunities to become a good engineer and develop good skills and growth in your career.

The biggest regret of my life.
Placements: In the branch of textile technology at the Dr. BR Ambedkar national institute of Technology, 36% of students were placed in different companies like Trident, Reliance, Vardhman, etc. The highest package in the branch is 18 LPA and the average package is 6.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: Facilities provided by the institute to the students are available everywhere on campus. All the labs are old and the machines in the labs are not working properly. Now some machines have been ordered but the faculty members or those in charge don't know how to operate them.
Faculty: In the Department of Textile Technology, the new faculty members make jokes about the students; they are qualified but don't have any training programs for how to deliver the content to the students. Teaching quality is very bad, except for the experienced faculty members .

The biggest mistake of my life.
Placements: The placement percentage of DR B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar is better, and the highest package is 1.20 crore per annum in the year 2022, and the average package of the textile branch is 6.5 lakh per annum, and the top recruiters are Trident and Reliance.
Infrastructure: Facilities and the infrastructure of the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar are well and good; mostly all the facilities are available on campus, and the classrooms are equipped with smart systems like smart screens and projectors in each and every classroom.
Faculty: The faculty of the department of textile and technology at the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology is not helping; they are arguing with each other; the faculty members are not focusing on what they do well or what they do wrong; the curriculum is so old that it is not fully relevant to the industrial purpose.
Other: Nothing is worse than college.

We have ACs in classrooms and well-equipped labs. The surrounding area of the college is also very good. Our college spreads over 154 acres with all facilities. Every year, the college hosts different technical fests like Utkansh, Techniti, Bharat Dhwani.
Faculty: The course structures are updated with the National Education Policy 2020, and all the faculty are very helpful and always encourage us to do our best. Apart from that, there are many placement opportunities for software, data learning, and teaching. Some professors have direct collaboration with the industry, which will help a lot in placements. The curriculum is also updated every three years.
Other: The Robotics Club, Dance Club, Singing Club, Literary and Debating Club are some of the most popular clubs of NIT Jalandhar.
