Admission to NDA Pune is entirely based on candidates' performance in the NDA entrance exams, making it comparatively tougher than many other colleges. In addition, the NDA exam is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission). National Defence Academy Pune, offers limited seats in the BTech programme. So, the competition is tough, however, the NDA exam just needs aspirants to be smart and hard-working to cover English, GK, Maths and Science Subjects in the required time period.

Candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics & Mathematics as mandatory subjects to become eligible for NDA Pune BTech programme.

NDA offers BA and BSc programme for a three-year duration and BTech programme for four-year duration. However, there is one-year compulsory training programme in respective academies of the Armed Forces after the course duration.

NDA Pune offers scholarships to various undergraduate and postgraduate course students as financial assistance. Some of the States/Union Territories/ Boards that are offering scholarships at NDA are Maharashtra, Haryana, Pondicherry, Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh, and others. The scholarships offered by the National Defence Academy are mentioned below:

NDA is the joint training institute for all three services-Army, Navy and Air Force. After joining the NDA cadet undergo training for three years. After graduating from NDA candidates are sent to their respective training academies for one year of training before commissioning. Army cadets are sent to the Indian Military Academy (Dehradun), naval cadets to the Indian Naval Academy (Ezhimala), and Air Force cadets to the Air Force Academy (Dundigal, Hyderabad).

No, studying at NDA is not free. The candidates will have to pay the course fee and the accommodation charges are well. If the candidates find the fee a little high, they can apply online on the official website for the scholarships offered by the college. The various scholarships provided by the college are Biharilal Mandakini Cash Prize, Col Kendall Frank’s Memorial Scholarship, Sir Parshuram Bhau Patwardhan Scholarship, FG Officers DV Pintoo Memorial Scholarship, Major V Damale Memorial Scholarship, Smt Vijaya Rajagopalan Scholarship, and others.

It is always advised to follow NCERT books for NDA exam. Candidates must refer to the high school books to clear the concepts of the topics given in the syllabus. 

The faculty of NDA Pune is good and experienced. The teaching faculty of NDA Pune consists of permanent and highly qualified civilian officers that are selected by the UPSC. The difficulty level of NDA Maths paper is usually moderate while GAT was easy. The English Language paper of NDA is usually easy where questions are asked on grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension. The General Awareness section of NDA is moderate. Candidates need to keep themselves updated with the latest events in India and the world. To ace the exam, candidates need to understand the exam pattern and syllabus, practice mock test, solve previous years' question papers, etc. With hard work and dedication, candidates can crack the exam easily. The total marks allotted to the written exam of NDA are 900. Candidates need to secure 25 per cent in each subject to qualify the exam. Candidates qualifying the written exam of NDA are called for SSB Interview.
