The faculty members needs to be trained.

Placements: Only 20% of M.Tech students used to get placed in reputed firms with good package. The highest package was around 4.5lakh per annum in L&T. No one from our batch got internship and most of them were preparing for government service exams. The field needs practical experience and updated software knowledge.

Infrastructure: The old buildings needs to renovated as most of the classrooms were like 80's college type. Renovation of holds buildings were under progress and a new block was also under construction. But hostel blocks had good facilities and mess was also good.

Faculty: Faculty members were not all aware of the most modern technologies in our field and we're following B.Tech syllabus as our course curriculum. They had no idea of software's like plaxis, L piles which was used in modelling. The whole syllabus they followed was simply of no use when considering practical aspects.

Other: Geotechnical engineering has scope but the number of firms dealing with this field is lesser when compared to structural engineering. But once we get into a firm in the same field, we find it very interesting as everything in this field needs judgment and lateral thinking skills. All the problem seems unique.
