NIT Durgapur is an amazing college with great faculty members.

Placements: About 80% of the students from our batch got placed. Most of the students did not go for placement as they wanted to do a PhD after their masters. The ones who did sit for the placements all got placed. I am not sure about the salary offered to the students. Companies like Directi, Endurance, Oracle, Amazon, Qualcomm, Infosys, TCS and Goldman Sachs visit our college for placements. I am not sure about the different roles offered to the students.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is poor. Labs did not have proper systems and workstations to work in or run high computing projects in. Classrooms and buildings are very uncomfortable and backdated. Wi-Fi facility is good. The hostels were not good. Food served to the students was not good, but messes are closed during vacations. There was no facility to cook for ourselves, so we were forced to buy food from outside, which was at extra expenditure. Some of the hostels don't even have elevators, and you will have to haul all your luggage by stairs on your own. There is no air-conditioned facility anywhere except for the labs. Medical facilities were pretty good. There was a government hospital inside the campus which treated us for free. The gym and sports equipment were pretty good.

Faculty: All faculty members in our college are mind-blowingly. They taught us very well and made sure that all the students could understand the topics. The course structure was great. We had all the subjects that we wanted, and they all are designed very well. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready.

Other: Our college is amazing if we overlook the infrastructure. I have chosen this course because the course is well-designed to help all students, irrespective of whether they want to go into the industry or academia, it taught students well and made sure they are ready for any future path they choose. I wish they would spend a little bit on the buildings and install air-conditioned facility as our college is very hot in the summers and very cold in the winters. Events and fests organised at our college are amazing. The connectivity is great. Scholarships are available for students. Our college conducts very good extracurricular activities for students.

It is a good college for B.Tech students and the average for post-graduation.

Placements: Almost 60% of the students get placed. The highest salary package offered is 29 LPA, the lowest salary package offered is 4 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Microsoft and Qualcomm. The top role offered is a power programmer by Infosys company. The highest salary package offered in our course is 29 LPA, the lowest salary package offered in our course is 4 LPA, and the average salary package offered in our course is 6 LPA. Almost 20% of our students got an internship in companies like Intel and Toshiba.

Infrastructure: There is a Wi-Fi facility available in the hostel but not always works properly. LAN connection is provided to each student. There are fantastic labs in the college, and there is a good environment in the college library. There is an excellent hostel. The food provided in the college is of average quality.

Faculty: Teachers here are helpful and well qualified. Faculty here are knowledgeable and always encourages the students for research. The course curriculum is very relevant, and it makes students get ready for reputed companies like Microsoft, Qualcomm and many high profile companies.

Other: I choose this course because I always wanted to pursue higher studies. The best thing about the course is students get profound knowledge about core subjects. College authority should help the students for better research scope abroad. The college conducts events, fest and extracurricular activities for every three to four months. The college provides scholarships to economically weak students.
