A few more updates are given below:
- The IIT JAM 2026 exam is now over for admission to the MSc course, with the results expected to be announced on Mar 20, 2026.
- The CSAB Special Counselling 2025 Round 3 has concluded with the announcement of the seat allotment results for admission to BE/BTech courses.
- The GATE 2026 exam for admission to ME/MTech/PhD courses has concluded. Results are scheduled for release on Mar 19, 2026.
- The JEE Main 2026 registrations for session 2 started for admission to the BTech, BArch and BPlan courses. The last date to register for the same is Feb 25, 2026. Further, the session 2 exams will be conducted from Apr 2 to Apr 9, 2026.

No, BTech programme isn't free at NIT Sikkim. Candidates seeking to get admission are required to pay the tuition fee which ranges between INR 5 Lacs - 5.3 lakh, the fees excludes of Eamination Fee of Semester Registration Fee, Library Fee, Laboratory Fee, Internet Fee, etc. However NIT Sikkim does have scholarship schemes for students. The total fee for the BTech programme at NIT Sikkim is INR 5 lakh, Total fee is calculated based on annual/ semester fee available for the academic year, hence is indicative. ST/SC & PH students are fully exempted from paying tuition fees, while the most economically backward students (whose family income is less than Rs.1.00 Lacs per annum) are granted full remission of the tuition fee. Other economically backward students, whose family income falls between Rs.1.00 to 5.00 Lacs per annum, are granted a remission of 2/3rd of the tuition fee.

- Candidates seeking admission at NIT Sikkim are required to complete the application form for the course-specific entrance exam. After appearing for the respective entrance exams, candidates have to apply for the counselling process for the final seat allotment.
- For its flagship BTech course, NIT Sikkim admits students with a valid JEE Main score and are allotted seats through JoSAA Counselling. Admission to M.Tech is done through GATE, followed by CCMT Counselling. Similarly for MSc admission, IIT JAM and CCMN Counselling are required. However, PhD admission requires to appear in the Institution entrance exam and PI. Additionally, NIT Sikkim conducts IAT (Institute Admission Test), for admission to the left-over seats from the CCMN and CCMNT counselling for MSc/MTech.
- The cutoff for BTech, MTech, and MSc courses is released by the respective counselling bodies.The shortlisted candidates are then required to pay the admission fee to confirm their seats.

NIT Sikkim placements 2025 are still ongoing. The highest package offered in 2025 is INR 44 LPA. As per the reports, the average package has not been released.
