Yes, JEE Main 2024 dates for admission to NIT Sikkim are out now but the dates are tentative. It is expected that JEE Main 2024 notification will be released in the first week of December. NTA will conduct the JEE Main 2024 exam in two sessions in January and April. The exact date of the exam for both sessions will be announced in the notification. Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore started the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 registration on Aug 30. GATE application form 2024 is available online at the exam official website. Aspirants can visit the website to apply. GATE qualifying cutoff is the institute eligibility cutoff, and on the other hand, the GATE admission cutoff ensures a call for admission at IITs, NITs, IITs, and CFTIs. Check below in detail:

GATE Qualifying Cutoff: It is the minimum mark a candidate must score so that he or she is eligible for admission. But this does not mean that a candidate is selected for admission. Actually, it is fixed before the announcement of GATE results. It is announced by the conducting IIT and available on GOAPS. It includes qualifying marks for each paper.

Admission GATE Cutoffs: It is the final opening and closing rank score fixed by the participating institutes for the selection of candidates. It is to be noted here that meeting the admission GATE cutoff does not mean that the candidates will be selected for admission. It is fixed after the GATE result date. It is declared by the individual participating institutes and available on their respective counselling portals (CCMT/ COAP).

NIT Sikkim offers UG, PG, and Doctoral courses in the field of Science, Commerce, and Humanities, including BTech, MTech, MSc, and PhD. At NIT Sikkim, these courses are offered through nine departments across multiple specialisations. BTech is the flagship course offered by the Institution. National exams like JEE Main and GATE are accepted by the Institution for admission to BTech and M.Tech courses.

NIT Sikkim provides a wide range of academic programmes at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels, These programs include Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Master of Technology (MTech), Master of Science (MSc), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), with various specialisations available in each programme. All the programmes except PhD  are entirely based on Entry-level exams. As for the PhD programme candidates have to appear for the Institution entrance exam and a personal interview.

NIT Sikkim Round 1 Seat Allotment Result has been released. As per the NIT Sikkim BTech cutoff 2024, the Round 1 closing rank for CSE was 2641 for SC and 1416 for ST category. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE Main, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.

NIT Sikkim offers a four-year BTech programme in  five specialisations for the BTech programme, which include Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical & Electronics Engineering. NIT Sikkim admission to the flagship BTech course is completely entrance-based. Interested candidates are required to apply and appear for JEE Main.

NIT Sikkim offers M.Tech programmes with a duration for two years. M.Tech programme at NIT Sikkim is offered in five specialisations namely:

• Computer Science & Engineering,
• Control, Power & Electric Drives Electronics,
• Communication Engineering,
• Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning and
• VLSI & Embedded Systems.

The Admission eligibility criteria for the M.Tech programme includes Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree with 60% aggregate. GATE and CCMT counselling is prefer for the selection criteria.

NIT Sikkim admission process is entirely entrance-based. Candidates who obtain a valid score as per the course's requirements in the respective entrance exam will have to register and appear for the counselling process conducted by specific counselling bodies. To get a seat at NIT Sikkim for BTech specialisations, candidate must attain the rank as per the category they belong to. NIT Sikkim JEE Main cutoff 2025 was released for the first round. As per the cutoff for the General AI category candidates, the closing ranks in round 1 varied between 21087 and 49684. Looking at the cutoff ranks, it can be said that getting admission to NIT Sikkim at 35000 rank is easy. Though the choice of specialisation would be limited at this rank. Given below is branch-wise cutoff for NIT Sikkim with respect to the General AI category candidates, to have an idea of the choice of specialisation available at this rank:

The eligibility criteria for BTech admissions at NIT Sikkim is that candidate should have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 75% aggregate. Moreover, the duration of the course is for four years. Additionally, the fees for the BTech course range between INR 5 Lacs - INR 5.35 lakh. The entrance exams accepted include JEE Main.

The total fee for the MTech programme at NIT Sikkim is INR 1.4 lakh. The total fee is calculated based on annual/ semester fee available for the academic year, hence is indicative. ST/SC & PH students are fully exempted from paying tuition fees, while the most economically backward students (whose family income is less than INR 1 lakh per annum) are granted full remission of the tuition fee. Other economically backward students, whose family income falls between INR 1 lakh to INR 5 lakh per annum, are granted a remission of 2/3rd of the tuition fee.

The basic eligibility criteria to apply for the M.Tech course at NIT Sikkim is that the candidate must have completed a BE/BTech degree in a relevant field from a recognised university or institute. Additionally, the candidate must have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in their undergraduate degree programme. Further, the selection procedure includes GATE and CCMT exams.

NIT Sikkim don't provide direct admission to any programme offered by the institution. The admissions are strictly based on national-level entrance tests like JEE Main, GATE, and IIT JAM. The institute may also conduct a written test and personal interview for further selection. As for the M.Tech programme clearing GATE exam followed by counselling is the process for admission.
