Review on NMAM Institute of Technology, NITTE University.

Placements: Almost all of the students at our college are placed in very reputed companies. The top recurring companies are Biocon and Wipro. Almost all of the students get internships in good-reputed companies and then get placed in very good companies. The highest package in my course was 56 LPA and the lowest was 8 LPA.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure at this college is very futuristic. For example, all classrooms have air conditioning, and Wi-Fi is available 24/7. The library is also open 24/7 except for holidays. The labs are huge and can accommodate up to 100 students. Hostel rules are very strict, especially for girls. For example, girls must return to the hostel by 6:00 p.m. The mess hall serves both north and south Indian food, and medical facilities are available 24/7. Finally, sports events are held every month.

Faculty: The faculty at NMAM Institute of Technology are very friendly, but the language barrier can be a problem. Some lecturers prefer to teach in Kannada or Tulu. The curriculum is good, but it moves very fast, and we need to start working in industry from our first year.

Other: I chose biotechnology because of my interest in biology, and my goal is to be part of a cancer research team. Fortunately, my course gives me the flexibility to pursue any field I want. The best part about NMAM is the events and fests. I really want people to come and see it for themselves. Incredea, which is held in mid-November, is especially awesome. There are many scholarship opportunities available throughout the year, but the best one is for students who score in the top 300 on the entrance exam. If you qualify, you'll get a scholarship of Rs. 125,000 every year.

Not so great campus life as it is located in a remote area. City is like 2 hours away.

Placements: There are not many biotech students who get placed as most of them aim for higher studies. But if you go for campus interviews I believe you will be placed in a decent company if you have a good skillset. Mass recruiting companies such as Infosys and Accenture and other companies such as Biocon are Kost are the recruiting companies. Roles offered for a Bachelor in biotech are research assistant, product checking, etc. and also in IT companies.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. Wi-Fi is available. Labs are good. Classrooms are equipped with quality benches and projectors. Library is decent. Hostel services are a bit bad. Food in the mess is just like other hostel. Medical facilities are good. Opportunity for sports and games are also available.

Faculty: All the teachers are doctorates, helpful and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is awesome. Some subjects are unnecessary but most of them are your subject related from the first year itself. Semester end exams are pretty easy and almost all of the students pass.

Other: My interest is research so I chose this course. The course teaches you all the things you need to know about bio and its application. More practical knowledge than just theory. Fest, events and other activities and given just the same importance.

It is a good college for biotech if you are able to manage lectures.

Placements: No core company of biotech visits the college. Some biotech students got placed in IT companies. Some got placed in the companies from DD to Omics International. Overall, we can't expect good placements. Omics offers a package of 2.5 Lacs per annum. IT companies pay 3 Lacs per annum. This trend is continuing for many years.

Infrastructure: Classrooms are good. The building is average. Wi-Fi facility is provided, but it is very slow, and it is provided only for laptops. The library is good. Good sports facilities are provided such as gym, football, cricket stadium, etc. Lab facilities are good and equipped with the instruments such as HPLC, gas chromatography, etc. The canteen is good.

Faculty: The college has quality lecturers. I can say that NITTE's strength is its quality lectures. Specialised lecturers from various fields teach the respective subjects. You can expect some partiality. The student-faculty ratio is 15:1. The syllabus is good for gaining knowledge but not up to mark to provide industry knowledge.

Other: Don't expect entertainment in events. Other colleges conduct better events. Our college has a green campus.

A huge campus, with amazing faculty members, facilities and infrastructure.

Placements: A good number of companies visit the college. Infosys, Oracle, Wipro and many more. Each company has it's own salary package. Few companies also select students for internship. Off campus placements also takes place. 5 students from the department of biotechnology were placed in the core company in the year 2017 and 2018. Most of the students from all the departments get placed in IT companies.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi campus is available other then that departmental Wi-Fi is also available. 4 seminar halls are there. The department of biotechnology has good lab facilities and instruments. 2 gyms and a 400m track is also available. Air conditioned classrooms are available. The central library has various sections like technical journal, digital library, reference and lending sections. The departmental library is also present. The college has one canteen called "Durga canteen" which has seperate vegetarian and non-intrusive vegetarian sections. An omlet shop where exciting falvors of icecream are available, the price is reasonable. Around the vast campus we have 3 cafeterias. In the college garden "sanmathi" there is another canteen where all kinds of vegetarian and non vegetarian food with desserts are available at a reasonable cost.

Faculty: 16 faculty members and present in the department of biotechnology. Every year there are two semesters 4 1/2 months long. Life sciences and physics based subjects are included in the course. Electives can be chosen from 5th semester. Each subject is engaged by a different lecturer based on their specialisation. Many researchers are taking place in the department. Most of the faculty members hold a Ph.D. the rest as working on their Ph.D. Other than the syllabus extra talks and seminars will be arranged by the department for the benefit of the students.

Other: The college has one fest named "Incridea" which is for 4 days, it is a technocultural fest. The college hosted the cross country event in the year 2018.

Other: One of the best college in Karnataka. Most of the teaching faculty members are Ph.D. holders. College campus have all the facilities and we can get all books from the library. College canteen give all stuffs at a very reasonable rate there is no surcharge on any product. College take serious action against any misconduct by students or professor.
