BE/BTech in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% aggregate is the basic eligibility for the two-year M.Tech course offered at SVNIT Surat.

The highest stipend recorded during SVNIT Surat M.Tech internships for 2 month and 1-year internships was INR 15,000 and INR 70,000. 47 companies visited and 86 students were placed in 2025.

The highest package of INR 42 LPA was offered to MTech VLSI & Embedded Systems, MTech CSE and MTech Data Science students during placements 2025 at SVNIT Surat. The second highest package of 20.31 LPA was offered to students of Geotechnical and Structural Engineering departments.

NIT Manipur JEE Main cutoff 2024 has been released for admission to the BTech courses. During the Round 1 cutoff, the closing rank for CSE was 25886 for the General category students under the AII India Quota. Among OBC candidates, the closing rank for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering stood at 8750. During the recent NIT Surat placements 2024, a total of 262 students registered for the placements, of which 143 students were placed in eminent companies with new-age job roles. Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) Surat is recognised by the UGC. It is a part of the thirty NITs that has been recognised by the Indian Government due to their national importance. The NIT Surat also gives good placement offers to the students.

SVNIT has a good placement record and gives many job opportunities to the students. The placement rate recorded during BTech placements 2025 was 82%. In MTech and MSc courses, 61% and 50% students were placed. 

NIT Surat has 10 hostels for accommodating over 5000 students. Out of these 10 hostels,  7 are allocated for boys and 2 are dedicated to girls. 1 hostel is especially for married scholars. All the hostels are managed by chief wardens/wardens, supervisors, and hostel boys. SVNIT Surat hostels have all the basic facilities, including a computer table/study table, chair, cot, almirah, etc. Each wing of the hostel has several verandahs and balconies. All the hostels have a dining hall and several water coolers, a common room, a reading room, etc. The hostel has 24/7 wifi connectivity. For the safety and security of the students, the hostels are under the surveillance of CCTV cameras that are operational 24/7.
