Yes, the Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay offers hostel facilities. The hostels have a reading room, a TV room, a gym, and a computer room. Movies are shown at the SJSOM IIT Bombay Auditorium every weekend. Further, one can unwind by playing indoor games like table tennis, chess, or carrom. SJSOM IIT Bombay offers boy's hostels with single occupancy and shared rooms. However, SJSOM IIT Bombay provided an on-campus hostel. After the conclusion of the application procedure, candidates are shortlisted based on scores in GATE/ UGC-NET (Lectureship)/ UGC-JRF/ CSIR-NET/ CAT/ GMAT/ GRE. Based on the cutoff marks, candidates with a score equal to or higher than the cutoff are selected. The eligible candidates without a valid score have to appear for an entrance test (which is an Aptitude Test covering four sections – English Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Analytical Reasoning and Data Interpretation). Shortlisted students further have to appear for an interview. 

SJMSOM, IIT Bombay only accepts CAT score for admission to its flagship MBA programme. Aspiring candidates must apply for the CAT exam and should aim to score well in it. Candidates based on their CAT scores will be selected for the Personal Interview (PI) round. The final merit list for candidates selected for the MBA programme at SJMSOM, IIT Bombay will be based on candidate’s composite score of different parameters which includes CAT overall score, personal interaction (PI) and candidate profile. Candidates who finally got selected after having through all the process will be required to report to the admission cell at SJMSOM for document verification and fee payment.

A total of 52 recruiters visited the campus during SJMSOM placement 2025 out of which 27% were new recruiters. Earlier, 48 recruiters participated during placement 2024.

Yes, candidate having CAT percentile above 93 will be shortlisted for the Personal Interview (PI) round. According to the cut-off list released by SJMSOM, IIT Bombay for the year 2022.
