A really good experience for my career.
Placements: The college has a commendable placement record, with approximately 90% of students securing positions in reputable companies. Top multinational corporations such as TCS, Infosys, UST Global, Cognizant, and Tata Elxsi frequently recruit from SCTCE. The average salary package offered ranges between 4 LPA to 5 LPA, with the highest packages reaching up to 15 LPA.
Infrastructure: While SCTCE offers well-maintained classrooms, laboratories, and a hygienic canteen, the campus area is relatively small compared to other institutions. Notably, the college lacks its own sports ground, necessitating the use of external avenues for sports events.
Faculty: The faculty at SCTCE is highly qualified, with many possessing over 15 years of teaching experience. They are known for their supportive approach and are appointed based on AICTE and government norms. The college fosters a vibrant campus life, encouraging participation in extracurricular activities. The college was good in the past, but now it is just a shadow of what it used to be.
Placements: Around 50% of students get placed directly last year, which is a decline compared to previous years. The placement rates are decreasing. The highest package is around 5 LPA for a student working at a Tamil Nadu nuclear plant. The lowest packages are from IT companies, averaging about 20,000 per month.
Infrastructure: The college doesn't have its own hostel. The campus is very small and doesn't have a football ground or proper sports facilities. The mechanical lab has outdated equipment that is not commonly used in the industry today. There is free Wi-Fi in the library, and the library facility is good.
Faculty: Faculty members are really helpful, but most of them teach only theory, as if they are teaching high school students. They don't focus much on the practical aspects. However, the staff who do teach effectively deliver their lessons with maximum effort.
Other: I opt for Mechanical Engineering because I am fascinated by how an engineer can craft new things with advancements in technology. However, here, there is only theoretical study and no practical activities. The potential of many students is wasted.

SCT review facilities, studies, and campus space.
Placements: 14 students entered into companies and got placed. The highest is Rs. 30,000. The lowest is Rs. 17,000. These are just not sure. To my knowledge, most of them got placed in good companies. Many got placed in average companies also. Good companies like TCS, Tata Elexi, etc., visit the college.
Infrastructure: The space is very small but still, they are making the most of it by providing facilities. Even though they are old, limited sources are there. Water tank facilities are very poor. Most of the time, it contains bacteria. The need for a ground is very important at our college.
Faculty: All teachers are highly qualified and up to the mark. They have done their accomplishments. Some are weak in subject knowledge. The course does make them industry-ready, but only in some subjects. They are okay. 92% is the pass percentage.

SCTC is an excellent choice for Mechanical Engineering.
Placements: There are good placements offered in mechanical engineering. We can attend Other placements in computer Science departments and other core, and IT companies' packages may vary from 2 LPA to 12 LPA. Top recruitment are from Google, Amazon, and Nsk bearing.
Infrastructure: The college provides decent infrastructure, including well-equipped labs, a well-stocked library with technical books, and spacious classrooms. Some of the workshop equipment could be modernized. While the campus is not very large, it offers a friendly and healthy learning environment. Although the college does not have its hostel facilities, there are several independent hostels in collaboration with the college, located within a 1 km radius.
Faculty: Faculty members are approachable, with many professors actively engaging in student mentorship for academic and research projects. The student community is vibrant, with senior students offering support to juniors. However, the administrative processes could be more streamlined. The curriculum follows the KTU syllabus, and exams are conducted fairly.
Other: Mechanical engineering is a highly aspirational field and the foundation of many industries. Our fest, Cult Way, is the biggest event in Trivandrum, typically held at Nisha Gandhi Kanakakunnu.

I recommend this college because the crowd and campus life are very good.
Placements: Around 90% of students were placed in my college, with placement opportunities in companies like TCS, UST, Tata Elxsi, Infosys, and many others. The average salary package offered through placement is 5 lacs per annum, while the highest package is 15 lacs per annum.
Infrastructure: SCT is one of the best colleges in Trivandrum, providing an overall well-developed character. The campus features a mild mix of campus politics with good educational facilities that really develop informed graduates. SCT boasts one of the largest workshop blocks and modern facilities, including libraries and labs. The overall campus life offers a vibrant and inclusive environment. The main disappointment is that the college lacks hostel facilities and a college ground.
Faculty: Faculty members should have good teaching skills, the ability to engage students, and provide clear communication and mentorship. The faculty members are highly qualified, with advanced degrees (M.Tech, Ph.D.) in their fields. The KTU syllabus is not difficult; in fact, it is much easier compared to what you encounter in 12th grade.
Other: I’m interested in designing and building machines and mechanisms. The course provides opportunities for hands-on learning and experimentation with a variety of specializations, enhancing opportunities for innovation and creativity. SCT College hosts the biggest fest, Cult Away, every year.
