The Essence of St. Xavier's college, Kolkata.
Placements: Last year 90 percent of students in my course were placed. The highest package was in the range of 24-25 Lacs the average package was 8-9 Lacs and the lowest package was 4-5 Lacs. Some of the companies that visited our campus include Accenture Deloitte and D. E. Shaw.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the course is top notch with an incredible library facility. Our library has subscriptions to several journals and along with physical copies loads of soft copies are available for students. The classrooms are massive and airy, and the labs are very advanced with good equipment. The hostel is neat and clean, and the people are very helpful.
Faculty: The teaching quality at our college is top notch and the professors are very approachable. They have immaculate achievements and are kind and patient with students. The curriculum is up to date and teaches industry relevant skills. Exams are of medium difficulty and are held every three months. The pass percentage is quite high as only very good students are admitted to the college.
Other: The campus is always buzzing with activities and events. Several societies help you discover our true passion and drive us to do better every day. The college inspires us to think outside the box and innovate.

I'm very satisfied with our college.
Placements: Each bath has two types of students: those who apply for placement cells after B.Sc. and those who pursue higher education. Most of the students sitting for the placement test are recruited. For the highest and lowest packages, it basically depends on the student himself and the quality of skills he has groomed himself into. There are companies with salary packages of 4 to 6 LPA, as it can go up to 23 LPA. Recruiting companies for our course include TCS, IBM, etc. Some special MNC product-based companies also come to our college, like Deloitte. Interested students can get internships at pretty good companies in the first year. Many go for research internships at IIT, NIT, and other prestigious colleges in India.
Infrastructure: The hostels and our college premises are great and very well-maintained, with complete high-speed Wi-Fi coverage (50mbps). The labs are enormous and well updated with the latest instruments. Our library is one of the best I have ever seen. It has a complete AC facility with study areas and a boatload of books on every subject. The classrooms are well lit with projectors and air conditioning (depending upon the course). The campus has many halls, an observatory, a canteen, toilets on every floor; etc. The hostel is very well maintained with a laundry section and everything is separated out. Having study hours and great discipline help the student build a great personality.
Faculty: The majority of our college's professors are PhD holders with a huge amount of knowledge about the subjects they teach. In terms of teaching quality, there is not even a tiny bit to complain about. The curriculum is completely relevant to the subject, with all the important papers like AI, DBMS, data structures, discrete mathematics, etc. covered. It can be checked out on the official website. They prepare the students well for the future with all their support. The semester exams are quite interesting, with not so difficult questions. We have our CIA in the middle of the semester, which helps us keep a track record and stay up-to-date with our studies.
Other: St. Xavier's College is a brand that speaks for itself and also keeps up well with its words and promises. With all the students from all around the nation, even some from other countries, the exposure, the quality of knowledge of the professors, the great quality of students, and also the campus, everything is just worth the admission. Speaking of improvement, if the attendance criteria were cut off by a little (75% is the minimum percentage), it would help students more to pursue their self-research in a better fashion. Talking about festivals, Xavier's Fest Xavotsav is the best in class fest in the whole city and it can't be summed up in a single line.

St. Xavier's College Kolkata is really awesome.
Placements: About 70% of the students from our course got placed. The highest salary package offered was 2 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 1 LPA. The average salary package offered was 1.5 LPA. TCL is the most recruiting company for our course. Almost 60% of the students got internships from our course, and the maximum students got internships in TCL. A computer engineer is a top role offered in our course.
Infrastructure: Every necessary facility like Wi-Fi, practical labs, classrooms, library, playground and meeting hall were available for our course. The quality of the facilities provided in our hostel was really nice. The quality of the food available in the mess and canteen was also great.
Faculty: Teachers here were well qualified, knowledgeable and really very helpful. Their teaching quality was also awesome, and they were serious about our studies. They were very good. The course curriculum makes students industry-ready, and it builds students future.
Other: I have chosen this course because it is interesting and has much scope in the future. It also has many facilities. There is not any better thing about our course, but everything is fine.

Really good college with excellent study atmosphere and Healthy Environment to grow your self.
Placements: The placements are good may not be the best and the average package which I have heard from the seniors is about 3-4l. P. a. Companies like Deloitte US India, Cognizant, TCS come for recruiting computer Science students and the highest packages range from 10-11l. P. a and also with reasonable skills they also range higher. But most of the students opt for higher studies and thus very small amount of students go for placements. Even the professors advice to go for higher studies like M.Sc. CS and M. CA and then opt for job or research field.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and the campus is awesome with professors with awesome teaching skills and even the various associations are there where you can join to develop your extracurricular and all round development skills including the latest trending job skills that are required. The labs are awesome and even the lab assistants are very helpful. The environment is also very proper very much suitable for honing your own studying spirit and develop your character. Central Library is awesome with books of all kinds and every kinds. There are books of different authors on the same subject and even the online resources are very helpful which can be made available with the help of computers provided at lab. Even the past year question papers can also be made available from the lab. Wi-fi is also provided with very decent speed. The food quality is excellent but little expensive but that does not matter much and there is a rest room provided with nurses and adequate medical facilities. There is a big field and every type of tournaments are launched there like Xaverian Premiere League, different inter college feasts etc.
Faculty: Yes the teachers are highly helpful with individual doubt clearing sessions which is an integral part of the course and the Teachers are also very cooperative other than the class hours whenever you approach them with a doubt. There are also projectors and smart classes arranged so that with visual interaction the students can grasp the topics much more. Yes the course is very relevant and highly industry oriented with skill enhancement courses which make you ready for the industrial and job oriented fields.
Other: From childhood I had wanted to study computer Science so I had chosen this course. The best things are that you get to learn lot of programming and hardware aspects and even the latest of the technologies are also embedded in it considering its scope.

It is the college of dreams for those who dream big.
Placements: Placements in St. Xavier's College were exceptionally good. Many companies visited our college during our placement season. Companies like Wipro, TCS and Infosys from the IT sector and MuSigma, Larsen & Turbo from commerce and accounting sector visited our college for placements. The placement ratio of total students applied to the total students who got placed is very good. The salary packages offered by these companies were of a good standard.
Infrastructure: There's nothing much to say about the infrastructure of St. Xavier's College Kolkata. The name of the college just speaks about it. It is one of the best colleges in India. Computer labs are well-equipped with great computers. Most of the classrooms, library and labs are well-equipped with the required facilities, and everything is air-conditioned.
Faculty: Teachers in our college were great and highly knowledgeable. It gives you the feeling of studying in a school. Everything was well taught and explained in the class. Attendance was mandatory, so you can't miss out important lectures. The course is well compiled and covers most of the essentials you need to know about the subject.
Other: Xavoutsav is the annual grand fest of St. Xavier's College, Kolkata. The campus crowd is awesome. There are helpful staff, students and teachers. The locality of the college is great, and you will always have ample places to hang out.

Honest Xaverian. If are looking for admission read this I swear will help you.
Placements: The placement cell is very promising. It has many opportunity. It has a very good reputation
It has best class of companies. My seniors 20 out of 100 got placements. Companies like Deloitte Adobe Microsoft Wipro come to the campus. The lowest package was 3.5 Lacs anuallly.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is above the mark. As it is a renowned college. It has the best faculty. It has the best quality education. The college is equipped with blazing fast Wi-Fi connection. Each classroom has projector. Labs are very much kept care of. Canteen has all the foods u need. There is provision of each and every sport.
Faculty: Teachers are not that good. If you do not study you will keep on having arrears. Some teachers are strict. Some teachers are very helpful. Presentations are shown for some classes. Else others are just on blackboard or white. The course is useful as it teaches the most popular C language.

Life at SXC, Kolkata : Academics, Course Curriculum, Placements and more.
Placements: Placements at SXCCAL is really lucrative given that it's Science graduation college. There is a centralized Placement Cell through which companies offer both jobs and internships. CS grads get offers ranging from 2.5lpa to 18lpa with average around 4lpa. Companies like Deloitte, DE Shaw, ZS Associates, Quantiphi, EY were few of the big ones this year. But many more smaller companies and associations also come to recruit. Roles offered were generally that of Associates. Although getting placed in any firm depends entirely on the student's aptitude but about 40% of the people who opted for placements got placed and some got offered more than one job. Others go for higher education. Visit the official website to find more information.
Infrastructure: I wasn't a residential student, that is to say that I didn't stay in hostels so can't say much from personal experience, although my friends mentioned that strict rules are imposed in the hostel. The CS labs are adequate although not the most modern equipments are in use. The physics ancillary labs are in pathetic condition with old, sometimes non-functional instruments still in use. Wi-Fi is available for students in college campus all the time, not the best but does the work. All classrooms are provided with projects to aid visual descriptions of topics which may or may not be used by respective professors. Excellent library facility is available for the use of students with ample copies of most books. There are large and small fields for sports including a basketball court. Games of all sort : rugby, football, cricket, basketball, TT are available and some students actively participate. College also provides free career /personal counseling to students who need it. There's nothing called "ragging" at SXC. Medicines and other kits are readily available. Canteen food is decent, it's improved over the years. And then there's the iconic 'Greenbenches' : only a Xaverian knows the experience!
Faculty: Faculty is good : both Science and Arts. This is one thing where you'll face no problems. Qualified and competent teachers teach at SXC. All teachers have PhD/M.Tech/MCA backgrounds. Apart from that all the teachers are extremely supportive and jolly. I have never faced any problems approaching a teacher. The student to faculty ratio is about 50:1 for each class. Course Structure is advanced as compared to other colleges but clearly there's scope for improvement. Firstly, there's little to no industry exposure in few of the courses while others are at par. Secondly, there's a clear stress on the theoretical aspects of CS rather than the practical background. For me that wasn't a big deal for I'm more inclined towards research and academics but if you're into coding, web designing, animation etc. Maybe you should carefully analyze the course curriculum before making a decision. Also there's a lot of CIA (Continuous Interest Assessments) in between semesters which though helps students better prepare for semesters but also means it's very difficult to do/continue other courses/internships along with your college core syllabus. Finally although the course promises electives in the final semester and in maths in an earlier semester, the decision lies entirely upon the authorities and depends your previous academic performance.
Other: "Once a Xavierian, always a Xavierian" was told to us during our induction in the first year. The value of that statement is what we final years realize now. SXC was a great transition for me from being a school kid to a man, the values and knowledge you gather here is going to stay with you forever along with the memories. Nihil Ultra.

To be eligible for BSc Computer Science admission, most colleges require a minimum aggregate score of 50% in Class 12 with PCM as the required subject. Based on your percentage, you are eligible for admission. However, admission requirements may vary by college.
