Our college is better than government colleges.

Placements: Our department gives the highest number of placed students in the college, although the CSE department has fewer placements, and it comes after IT. In 2025, a total of 65 companies will come to our college to recruit students. Out of 136 students, 131 students are placed in different companies.

Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is very good; there are 6 big labs under the IT department. The labs are for DBMS, CAN, OS, Python, programming, and one is for examination purposes. Everything is well facilitated, and all the labs are clean and well-maintained.

Faculty: Our department is the best in the entire college. All the teachers have in-depth knowledge of their specific subjects and more than 10 years of teaching experience. They are also friendly in manner; they love all the department students and are very helpful.

Other: My rank is 8k, which is why I took admission to my dream college.

Absolutely get disappointed. All my expectations have broken.

Placements: Placement percentage is about 80% to 90% for computer science and its specifications. The average which is offered by companies is 4 LPA to 5 LPA. On campus, the highest salary was 33 LPA for last year. Top recruiter is TCS. You have to apply out of college for internships.

Infrastructure: There is no facility of hostel for the students in the college. They have to rent flats or PG for living which makes it costly. Infrastructure is also not that much well it's like any ordinary school type. But sports and fests are happening for those who are interested in such extra-curricular activities.

Faculty: Some of the faculty members of the college are genuine and good as teachers. But others are just doing their jobs like a burden. Course is fine but they do not provide that much practical teaching and due to lack of this how to solve the real industrial problem is going difficult for us.

Other: Events and fests are nice. They prepare these events nicely but if you participate in such events that may create problems for you due to attendance which is very strict in some departments. Even they know you are on inter-college team but they do not give you attendance or may be give defaulter in your exam.

How's my life going at Techno Main Salt Lake?

Placements: I chose B.Tech in information technology course. I would definitely say that the placement record of my department is quite good. The data says, the highest package offered in my course is 42 LPA, and cannot say about the off-campus placements. Many faculty members say that the off-campus package is in crores per annum. The top recruiting companies for our course are Wipro, Infosys, TCS, Amazon, Tech Mahindra, etc. I am in my first year of college. I do not have much information about internships, but I have seen seniors getting internships in top MNCs.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average, but not as expected. Many facilities are provided to students like Wi-Fi, labs, and the library. Wi-Fi is poor, and it does not work as well as to get used by students. The B.Tech building classrooms are non-AC therefore in summer, it gets very heat inside the room. However, the non-teaching building, that is, the BBA-BCA building has AC classrooms. I don't know much about the hostel because I haven't opted for the college hostel. I live in a private PG (paying guest).

Faculty: Faculty members are really helpful, If we approach them with any doubt, they definitely they will clear it out. They are well-qualified and knowledgeable. Some faculty members have poor teaching skills. At the start of the course, it seems irrelevant but as the semester passes it starts making sense. It focuses on practical knowledge more than there are PCA exams regularly. Semester exams are quite tough, but PYQs help students. The course syllabus is vast, but exams are conducted strictly. If we write relevant and accurate answers we will definitely score well.

Other: I gave an entrance examination called WBJEE in which I got a rank of 10K and got the branch Information Technology in Techno Main Salt Lake. One of my relatives' son has done engineering at this college, so he referred me during counseling that this college is good. If we work a little hard, we will get good opportunities like placements, internships, etc. The college should improve the quality of college fests and campus life. Many events and fests are organised by the college regularly and they attract the students too because the events are enjoyable.

It is an average and affordable college. The college is located in the prime location of Kolkata.

Placements: As I am in 1st year I don't have enough accurate knowledge about the placements however as much as I have heard the placements are good/average and many companies visit over here. The college is in front of Wipro's main branch in Kolkata. As much as I have heard many students secured good on-campus and off-campus placements, one got placed at 23 LPA from AIML.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very average as we have a normal school-like classroom, We have a very small library which has a good amount of books but a very small amount of seating space. The condition of the labs is quite good. There is no hostel facility available in the college thus most of the students live in nearby PGs and Flats, the quality is average. The food for nonvegetarians is good/average but very pathetic for vegetarians. I have taken PG in Mohishbatthan and will move into a flat in Keshtopur Next year.

Faculty: Professors have good qualifications as most of them have Ph.D. degrees from Jadavpur University. Some of them have good teaching experience and teach quite interesting however some are very boring and egoistic. There are 4 CA's (continuous assessment) before the semester examinations and the best among the CA's is taken. The semester examinations have average difficult sometimes very hard and sometimes easy.

Other: My college has very good and capable clubs which have many opportunities for us, they hold non-stop events one after another due to which we are engaged and are always learning something good. The biggest events include Edge from Geekonix and Ahwahan by TechnOtkarsh etc. Sports events are held on campus but as the campus is small, the bigger events are held in booked grounds somewhere outside the college.

It is worth for money paid. It provides the same facilities as other colleges.

Placements: The Information Technology branch in TMSL is better than most of the branches. Nearly 80-85% of students get placed. The package ranges from 3-20 LPA depending on students. Top recruiting companies like Wipro, TCS, Cognizant, etc., visit the college to hire students. Internship opportunities are provided.

Infrastructure: Labs and classrooms are in relatively good condition. Wi-Fi is available in labs. The library is small, and we do have a reading room as well. A hostel is not available. The canteen is present. Medical facilities are provided. Sports facilities are really good. Many sports events are conducted throughout the year.

Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and helpful. The teaching quality is relatively good. They help whenever needed. The course curriculum followed is of MAKAUT. Semester exams are also conducted by MAKAUT and have a standard. Exams are not so easy, and it does challenge an engineering student's cognitive thinking and capability, which is good. The pass percentage is 40% out of 100%.

Other: Fests are one of the best in the area after IIT KGP. Anakhronos is a cultural fest conducted and everyone waits for this every year. There are many clubs in the college, and it is actively involved in various competitions. Co-curricular activities give a wholesome development of the students.
