UIET Chandigarh admission to BTech is based on JEE Main score. The inter-se merit of the candidates for BE admission will be determined on the basis of All India Rank (AIR) obtained in JEE Main only, except in the Sports Category and the Defence Category. After completion of the selection rounds, BE candidates have to participate in JAC Counselling and provide their preferred institute. Once the seat is allotted, candidates need to pay course fee to confirm their seat.

Admissions in UIET for B.E. courses will be made on the basis of JEE (Main) All India Rank (AIR). There will be three rounds of online counselling followed by one last SPOT round of online counselling. Only the registered candidates will be able to participate in these rounds of counselling. So only 12th marks are not enough for admission in BE courses.

According to media reports, the overall placement rate recorded during UIET Chandigarh placement 2025 was 78.4%. Refer to the table for more clarity:

Candidates are required to meet the eligibility requirement for the course they are applying for. Candidates can apply for UG courses after completing Class 12. Graduation is mandatory for aspirants applying for PG courses. Find below course-wise eligibility and selection criteria:

Aspirants are first required to fill out the application form for the respective exam. The inter-se merit of the candidates for BE admission will be determined on the basis of All India Rank (AIR) obtained in JEE Main followed by JAC Counselling. For lateral entry, PULEET is conducted by the university for admission. UIET selects aspirants for ME/ M.Tech courses based on GATE score. Non-GATE candidates can also get admission based on their merit in the last qualifying exam.

As per the UIET Chandigarh, cutoff for Round 4 in 2023, the closing ranks for all BE specialisations ranged from 44170 to 146444. The most competitive specialisation has been Computer Science and Engineering with a closing rank of 44170, followed by Information Technology with 53185 rank.

Analysis of cut offs for previous years for Computer Science and Engineering reveals that, UIET Chandigarh has seen a declining trend compared to 2022. When compared from 2021 to 2022, it shows improving trend. The Cutoff for Computer Science and Engineering in Round 4 was 36201 in 2021 and 34583 in 2022 respectively.

JAC Delhi 2026 counselling will start in May. The entire counselling schedule is hosted on the official website of JAC Delhi 2026. Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) process for undergraduate admissions in engineering programs in Delhi, is conducted by the participating institutes themselves. The details for JAC Delhi 2026 counselling institute will be announced soon. JAC Delhi is a collaborative effort of four engineering institutes in Delhi, namely Delhi Technological University (DTU), Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-D), and the Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT, formerly known as NSIT). These institutes collectively conduct the counselling process for admission to their undergraduate engineering programs.
