B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2027
4.0
Average in all aspects; the rest depends on the individual.
Placements: I am a student of the ECE department in UIET college, and looking at the placement of our senior batch 2021-2025, the placements went average with an average package of 8 LPA. There were companies for analytics roles, with the top company being ZS, but for the role of software engineer, the requirements of companies were very high and dynamic.
Infrastructure: We have one of the biggest libraries in North India, the AC Joshi Library. The labs are well-equipped and have ACs, but the classrooms don’t have AC. The college provides a password and username to access their Wi-Fi. Hostels are pretty average; the rooms are small, but they have a 24-hour canteen facility and one AC-fitted reading room. The mess food quality is just like any other hostel, nothing to expect much.
Faculty: Teachers are quite supportive, with a few exceptions. You have to be in touch with them to know about any projects, and if you want to work with them. The course, to be honest, is not on par with what the industry requires, but the attendance policy is not that strict; you can manage to get your time to work on skills. Semester exams are of average level; a prep of 10-15 days before the exam works (10-12 hours each day).

I suggest students find a better college if they can, or else good luck here.
Placements: There are average placements (especially in non-CS branches. Placements in CS/IT are decent. The highest package ranges from 7-10 LPA. The average package ranges from 5-6 LPA. Courses like ECE, ME, and Biotech have weak core placements. Many students either opt for software roles or higher studies (GATE, CAT, GRE).
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is okay and not top-class. Classrooms, labs, and equipment are functional but outdated in some departments. The internet and tech support could be better. There is no hostel inside UIET (we stay in PU hostels or PGs nearby). I suggest students do not rely too much on it.
Faculty: Teaching quality is mixed as some professors are good, but many are outdated in teaching methods or research interests. We will often need to self-study or rely on online resources like NPTEL, YouTube, etc. So we more or less are on our own to pass exams.
Other: It is located inside the PU campus, so students enjoy the same lush green, vibrant, and spacious campus. There's a strong culture of fests, events, and societies. UIET students can participate in university-wide activities too.

Good placements and good facilities.
Placements: About 85% of students are placed in the ECE branch. The highest package is 45 Lacs, and the average package is 9 Lacs. Companies include American Express, ZS, Amazon, TCS, Infosys, and many more. Students will have to search for internships by themselves. You can go either in tech or in core in the ECE branch. This is a good opportunity in the ECE branch.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available in a quiet campus. Hostels have better infrastructure and food quality. There are good medical facilities and better sports opportunities. There is a canteen in the campus, and there is a very big library (AC Joshi Library) that is open 24 hours. Labs are good enough, and the practicals are well conducted.
Faculty: Yes, teachers are very helpful, and all teachers are qualified. Semester exams are not so tough, and students can score easily. There are two minors of 30 marks, and students have to score best in one. Then there are university exams of 50 marks, and 30 marks depend on the teacher for assignments and attendance.
Other: I want to pursue engineering in ECE because it has good placements and better future opportunities. By choosing ECE, students can either take placements in tech or in core. Events include Goonj Fest.

Pretty decent college while considering ROI and Placement but infrastructure is quite old.
Placements: The placement percentage for UIET Chandigarh typically range between 80-90% annually, though it can vary by year and programme. The highest Package is about ?30-40 Lacs per annum. The lowest Package is around ?3-5 Lacs per annum. Average Package is usually between ?8-9 Lacs per annum. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, IBM, Teach Mahindra, HCL Technologies, Amazon, Accenture and L&T.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is pretty average nothing extra. Infra is decent and usable but the classroom and buildings are kind old so not that modern. Hostel is actually below average atleast the boys hostel. Hostels here are old and not that properly maintained also there is a problem of hostel shortage. Food here is pretty good above average.
Faculty: Teacher are qualified no problem in that and they are quite knowledgeable also. But not all teachers here are helpful. Course is also average just like most of the colleges of India, only course will not make us industry ready. Semester examination here are normal not hard and neither easy.

This is a decent college not only for placements but also for its good surroundings.
Placements: I am a fresher, but I have observed my 4th-year seniors' placements. Approximately 75% of seniors got placed with an average package of 9.8 lakhs. The highest was 20 lakhs, and the lowest was 7 lakhs. These numbers are expected to increase as many companies are scheduled to visit next month.
Infrastructure: The entire campus is enabled with Wi-Fi. The labs are decent, but the only problem is that the desktops are outdated. Everything else is good, and food is provided at nominal charges. There are quite a few grounds, but we can play at the Punjab University ground, where you can enjoy almost all games.
Faculty: The curriculum is mapped from IIT Ropar. Exams can be tough for some, but if you study well, you will get a good CGPA. The passing CGPA is 4. The marking scheme consists of 50 marks for internal assessment and 50 for external exams. Out of the 50 internal marks, 30 are from tests, and 20 are from attendance and behavior in class, while the external 50 marks are for the final exam.

If you don't bother about hostel life, come and join us, but if you are eager for a hostel, don't.
Placements: Placements are not that much good, but decent enough to get a package. Don't focus on companies; just focus on skills and try to go off-campus. It's majorly about personal choices, but the reality is placements are not that good compared to others; the placement rate is 60%.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is too good, but don't expect to get hostels. There are very limited seats for hostels, 25-30 per branch, so that's a flaw, but you can live in nearby PG or take a room on a guest basis. I don't suggest you all to come; please stay away from this.
Faculty: Faculty members are experienced. For the first year, they are a bit too strict, but overall it's good. The curriculum and all are like other colleges, and the exam pattern is two minors and one major. You have to give only one minor; if you want to give both, the best of one will be counted.

Decent infrastructure with above average placement and crowd.
Placements: According to seniors, about 75–80% of students get placed in the ECE branch. The average is around 8–9 LPA, the highest is around 45 LPA, and the lowest is around 4 LPA. Getting an internship is tough but not impossible for students. Usually students from the ECE branch get placed in both software and core jobs, but getting the software role is easier than the core job.
Infrastructure: We have Wi-Fi on most of the campus. The labs are good and are equipped with all the instruments. Classrooms are normal, nothing extraordinary. The library of UIET is decent, but the Panjab University library is quite good and is accessible for all UIET students. The hostel is average; rooms are spacious, but it's old. Food here is above average in the mess and canteen. Sports facilities are good; almost all sports are there.
Faculty: The ECE branch is a good branch, and it's similar to the ECE of other colleges; nothing different. Semester exams are moderately difficult, not much hard, and not easy. Most of the teachers are good, but some teachers are not. All the teachers are knowledgeable. Practical teachers are good.

Quiet Chandigarh. A short review.
Placements: 87% of students were placed during this year's recruitment, and the highest package was 45 LPA, while the lowest was 3.6 LPA. The top recruiting companies were Deloitte, Intel, and TCS. The top roles were software engineer, human resource manager, back-end developer, front-end developer, and developer.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is old; classrooms don't have ACs, and the benches are kind of old. However, the labs have all the facilities, are fully equipped, and are air-conditioned. The hostel is also good and has full facilities. The food is good, but the sports facilities are not good.
Faculty: The teachers are well-educated and ready to help. They are open to sharing their knowledge with us and are keen to teach. The course is relevant and makes us industry-ready. The semester exams are moderate-level and relevant to the syllabus and the material taught in class.

There is no defence quota in JEE exam. You should score more then 130 marks in JEE Main to get a seat in NITs in general category other state quota.

If you have quota then you can get ECE or EEE easily in UIET Chandigarh, else you can go for UIET Hoshiarpur.
