Good placements for B.Tech, not for M.Tech.
Placements: Many classmates were unplaced. Many students had to accept offers from IT companies as core companies were not allowing M.Tech students. Placement department is very, very arrogant. They treat us like beggars when we go to ask for placement. If you missed some deadline for registration to TNP department, they make you write front page of any newspaper as a punishment. This is very childish.
Infrastructure: Labs are good. But limited access. Compared to the intake of the students, infrastructure/facilities are insufficient. Classrooms are very few as compared to the intake.
That's why many courses operate in shifts. Also, a few lectures are even conducted in labs. So if you are in the middle of something in the lab, you will have to leave the lab if any lecture is scheduled there. The main thing is there is no prior timetable for this. Lectures are conducted as per room available.
Faculty: The experienced faculty members are good. But they are very overloaded. Student to faculty ratio is not good. Labs are good but are not utilised properly. They have added nice courses to the curriculum. Being an autonomous institute, they are utilising it properly. The curriculum is the best part of VIT.

A must skip for M.Tech students.
Placements: In VIT, there are no placement records for M.Tech students of heat power engineering. I have personally gone through the track records of 3 years and to my astonishment, no placements have taken place in such a renowned college in Pune. A few internships are offered by few companies like Kalyani Studios, Whirlpool, etc. for one year. Internship companies provide a stipend of 5 thousand and not a penny more than that. So, students looking for a good job after M.Tech should skip this college for sure.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi in VIT never works. The classrooms are average, and the feel to study something is beyond the horizon. Very few classrooms are equipped with projectors. The library is pretty well-equipped with latest books and magazines. The reference section is too small, and the staff is out-numbered in front of many students. I am not sure about the medical facilities. There is no playground for outdoor games, and a few activities are carried out in a rented playground of different colleges. Indoor games like chess are played in a reading room & the experience is far worse.
Faculty: The faculty for M.Tech are mostly PhD holders from renowned colleges like IITs, NITs, etc. Few enthusiastic staff do complete their intended role, but somewhere the practicality is missing. The faculty don't have good communication skills, the majority of the teachers barely manage to speak English. The students are quite satisfied with the staff, and the curriculum is well-established. The curriculum does have a practical orientation, but it solely depends on the faculty appointed to a particular subject.

Other: The college has best campus placements companies more than hundred comes in our college. The campus is not too big. The college has lots of good facilities and organizes many technical events like Melange and other cultural events as well. The college has very educated and helpful faculty.

Other: VIT Pune is highly preferred college in Maharashtra region for B.Tech. There is huge placement for all the B.Tech branches. No ragging, at all but Infrastructure is not so good, and No placement for M.Tech candidates. Best for B.Tech students. No placement for M.Tech students at all. But all the mechanical Staff members are seniors and experts in their respective fields. Teaching methodology is also very comprehensive. But when it comes to the final project, there are some issues. College won’t give you any references for getting project in industry and if you get the one, then there may be possibility that you have to suffer during completion of your project. On the other hand if you do project under your guide, he will guide you and will stand with you till your project finishes. I have gone through this. If you have any references in industry for getting project and if you wish to join lectureship after the Masters, then you can go with this college, no problem, but if you don't then don't go with this one.

Best private college in Pune.
Placements: Good, but not as per excepted for m tech. Training Placement is working hard for placements so there are chances for B.Techstudents to have high packages. They had proper procedure for feeling up those t&p forms and applying for any company. That is just not good. You can get only a single offer per student.
Infrastructure: Campus area is small but still has one of the best colleges in Pune. Too many things situated in such a small area. Only two canteens which has less amount of variety in food. There is always an issue for parking. Only one central library which is situated in mechanical building. Which is always crowded.
Faculty: Awesome. Faculty has a good amount of experience and helpful. Almost all faculty members have done Ph.D. or pursuing the same. They acknowledge you as well as guide you to the right path. At last, they are just too much supportive. They believe in performance-based learning.

Hi Swapnil,
VIT mechanical engineering department is one of the very good departments. As far as placements are concerned I would like to share an experience of my roommates. Two years back, two M.Tech. 2nd year students were my roommates. I remember that they had sat for an interview of at least 5-
