Established in the year 1964, Bangalore University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi. Started its operations in the industry by offering Honors courses in the year 1965-66, the university today offers a wide range of courses on Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG), MPhil, PhD and Diploma level in multiple streams like Engineering, Science, Law, Commerce, Teaching & Education and Humanities & Social Sciences.

  • For BE and BArch, candidates are required to pass class 12th with a minimum of 45% in the aggregate of PCM
  • There is a reservation of 5% for SC, ST, Cat1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates
  • Admission to BE and BTech takes place on the basis of a valid score in Karnataka CET
  • ME at Bangalore University is offered in a number of specialisations and sub specialisations
  • Candidates willing to take admission in ME/BArch must have completed their BTech/BArch in the relevant domain
  • Admission is offered on the basis of a valid score in one among PGCET and GATE
  • The admission process is online and candidates need to apply to UVCE which is the constituent college of Bangalore University that offers engineering courses

Bangalore University Admission 2020: BE, BArch

Bangalore University offers BE and BArch programmes at the UG level in full-time mode. Admission to BE & BArch is KCET-based. Candidates who qualify in Common Entrance Test (CET) / Aptitude test conducted by the Government of Karnataka are eligible for the UG Engineering / Architecture courses.

Bangalore University Admission 2020: ME, MArch

At the postgraduate level, Bangalore University also offers ME and MArch courses in various specialisations. Admission to both these programmes is based on a merit score in PGCET followed by counselling conducted by the university. Once the merit list is released, shorlisted candidates need to provide relevant original documents for verification of eligibility and are then required to submit the fee in order to confirm their seat. In addition to this, GATE scores are also acceptable for admission to ME and MArch. Eligibility Criteria for ME:

- A pass in BTech/MTech

- A valid GATE score is compulsory to enter ME / M Tech / MArch courses, but they need not appear for PGCET

Bangalore University Application Process 2020

In order to apply for BTech and MTech at Bangalore University- UVCE, candidates need to get selected through Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), Govt of Karnataka for admission to the 1st year BTech & BArch.

1. Once the Final Round Seat Allocation is announced on the website of KEA– http://kea.kar.nic.in, candidates need to select a seat in UVCE & come down to the K R Circle campus.

2. Application forms can be obtained from the Admission Office of UVCE on production of:

  • Admission order issued by KEA
  • Required documents (mentioned below)
  • Online fee receipt of INR 12500 (to paid through Bangalore University website http://bangaloreuniversity.ac.in)
  • INR 1500 additional need to be paid by those who have passed 12th class from boards other than Department of Pre-University Education, Karnataka.

Note: All the fee payments at the college/university need to be made via online mode only.

3. Carry all these below-mentioned documents in original along with 2 set of attested xerox copies with you:

  • College admission fee recipt (3 copies)
  • CET seat allotment order issued by KEA
  • Class 12th marks card (will be returned after getting approval of DTE & BU)
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Migration Certificate (for CBSE and Outside Karnataka students)
  • Duly filled in application for admission to the 1st year
  • Self-Address postal cover of INR 5 for sending communication with regard to commencement of classes
  • 3 stamp-size and 3 passport-size photographs

3. Also, candidates need to have the xerox copies of these documents too:

  • Class 10th marks card
  • Caste Certificate (if seat allotted under Caste Category)
  • Income Certificate (to claim fee concession)
  • Rural Certificate (if seat is allotted under Rural Quota)
  • Kannada Medium Certificate (if seat is allotted under Kannada Medium Quota)
  • Study/Character/Conduct Certificate issued by the last institution
  • Defence/ ex-Defence/ NCC/ PH/ Sport Certificate (for special category candidates)
  • NATA score copy (for architecture students)

4. With all these documents, candidates need to collect the "File as per the Department allotted" from the UVCE Co-Operative Society in the campus (UVCE, KR Circle)

Procedure for the payment of fees:

  1. Visit Bangalore University website bangaloreuniversity.ac.in
  2. Click on On-line Service and then on Miscellaneous Fee payment
  3. Mode of payment is by Credit card / Debit card / Internet banking
  4. After successful payment, save the receipt page as PDF & print it prior to closing the page
