Bangalore University Science Admission Process 2020 including its Eligibility & Process

Established in the year 1964, Bangalore University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi. Started its operations in the industry by offering Honors courses in the year 1965-66, the university today is offering a wide range of courses on Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG), MPhil, PhD and Diploma level in multiple streams like Engineering, Science, Law, Commerce, Teaching & Education and Humanities & Social Sciences.

  • To be eligible for UG level courses, candidates need to pass 10+2 with relevant stream
  • Candidates willing to get admission in this university for PG courses need to pass Bachelor’s degree
  • Admission to BSc, MSc and BCA is based on merit
  • Admission to MSc is on the basis of Karnataka PGCET conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority
  • 5% reservation is there for candidates from reserved categories

Bio-Chemistry

40% marks in the aggregate of all subjects in graduation along with 50% marks in Chemistry or Biochemistry at 10+2 level

Botany

40% marks in the overall aggregate in graduation and 50% marks in Botany / Applied Botany in the qualifying examination

Molecular Biology

50% marks in the overall aggregate of graduation with compulsory Chemistry / Biochemistry and one of the following optional subjects:

40% marks in the overall aggregate of graduation with 50% marks in Chemistry. Also, the candidate must have studied Mathematics at 10 + 2 level

A pass in any Bachelor’s degree with overall 50% marks (45 % in case of SC/ST and Category-I candidates)

Natural Disaster Management

A pass in BSc (Earth Sciences/ physical Sciences)/ BA Geography/ BE(Civil, Agriculture, Environment) or equivalent with 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST/ Category-I candidates)

Library & Information Science

Any degree examination in the second class with at least 50% aggregate marks

Mathematics

Graduation who have secured 40% marks in the aggregate of all subjects and at least 50% marks in Mathematics

Microbiology

BSc with any Life Science subject with at least 50% marks. BSc in Biotechnology and BSc (Hons) graduates in Biotechnology / Biology / Botany / Microbiology / Zoology with 50% marks in aggregate

Biotechnology

Graduation with Physics and Mathematics with

Psychology

Graduation with 40% marks in the overall aggregate and at least 50% marks in Psychology

Psychological Counselling

BA / BSc graduates with 50% marks in the aggregate of optional subjects with Psychology at the graduate level or BEd or PG Diploma in Counselling are eligible

Life Sciences

BSc graduates with any Life Science subject with 50%

OR

Those who’ve done BSc in agriculture are also eligible

Statistics

BSc graduates with Statistics and Mathematics as optional subjects with a minimum of 50% in Statistics and 40% in the overall aggregate

Human Consciousness and Yogic Sciences

Any graduate with 50% marks in aggregate

Zoology

A graduation in BSc with at least 40% marks in the aggregate and at least 50% marks in Zoology

Applied Genetics

A graduation in BSc with at least 40% overall aggregate and 50% marks in the aggregate of all optional subjects with any three of the following:

Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry, Botany, Applied Botany, Zoology, Applied Zoology, Environmental Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Applied Genetics and Sericulture

Forensic Science

A graduation degree with at least 40% marks in the aggregate of all subjects and 50% marks in the aggregate of all optional subjects (5% relaxation for SC/ST, Category-I and PWD candidates) with any two of the following:

Forensic Science, Physics, Chemistry, Psychology, Economics, Sociology, Anthropology

Environmental Science, Life Sciences, Zoology

Audiology and Speech Language Pathology

Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Language and Hearing Sciences with a minimum of

50% marks in the aggregate

Computer Science

BSc graduates with Computer Science or BCA with Maths as a subjects with at least 50% marks

OR

A graduation in PCM with PG Diploma / Certificate Course in Computer Science of one year duration

Bangalore University Application Process 2020

Interested candidates need to fill the application form online. Follow the following steps for online application:

  1. Visit the official website of the university
  2. Fill the application form and pay the application fee through e-payment
  3. Send the filled-in application form along with self-attested copies of the required documents in person or via registered post to the university

Once the form is submitted, all the photocopied documents submitted by the candidates along with the Application Form are verified and the application for admission is liable for rejection without any notice in case of incomplete details or if the attached documents not found to be in order or not valid as per UGC/University Rules. Shortlisted ones are then called for counselling after this verification.

Bangalore University PG Courses Seat Reservation 2020

Reservation of seats at Bangalore University is as per the Govt. orders issued from time to time. Except for situations where there is only one seat, reservation rules are followed. If all the categories of reservation couldn’t be covered, seats shall be allotted in the order of preference specified in the below-mentioned table in the mentioned proportion assuring equitable distribution.
