NIRF 2025 Rankings are out. As per the latest NIRF 2025 rankings, Jawaharlal Nehru University ranks #9 under the category 'Overall'.
QS World University Rankings 2026 have been released. According to the same, JNU ranks at #558 under the category "World Universities".
A few more updates are given below:
- The CUET UG 2026 registration has reopened for admission to several UG courses. Students can now register till Feb 26, 2026. Further, the CUET exam 2026 will be conducted from May 11 to May 31, 2026.
- The JEE Main 2026 registrations for session 2 started for admission to the BTech, BArch and BPlan courses. The last date to register for the same is Feb 25, 2026. Further, the session 2 exams will be conducted from Apr 2 to Apr 9, 2026.
- The CUET PG exam 2026 will be conducted from Mar 6 to Mar 27, 2026, for admission to several PG courses.

Jawaharlal Nehru University New Delhi has also become India’s first-ever University to offer foreign language courses within its Integrated MA programme. JNU MCA admission is based on a valid Central University Entrance Test (Postgraduate) CUET-PG score. CUET PG is an all-India-level entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). According to test-takers, the General Test was easy and the Domain Knowledge section was moderate to tough. Although the questions were on the expected lines and within the CUET PG syllabus but according to some students, a few questions were out of the syllabus and tricky. JNU Courses and Fees 2026
JNU University comprises nearly 14 schools and 50+ centres of study offering over 100 courses with a wide range of specialisations. These courses are offered across various streams such as Arts, Technology, Management, Science, etc. at UG, PG, and doctorate levels. UG courses in JNU Delhi include BA (Hons), BSc, and BTech, among others. Whereas, Nehru University Delhi offers MA, MSc, MTech, and MBA courses at the PG level. Yes, candidates seeking admission to the JNU MA course must appear for the CUET-PG entrance exam, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The students are admitted on merit based on their performance in the entrance test and the deprivation points are added to their score in accordance with the approved admission Policy and Procedures of the University. The CUET PG 2023 exam will be held for postgraduate course admissions to over 50 Central and participating Universities.
There are multiple components included in the JNU BTech course fee, which are one-time chargeable or have to be paid annually/semesterly. The total tuition fee for the UG programme ranges between INR 99,800 and INR 5 lakh. In addition, the one-time fee is INR 6,000. Jawaharlal Nehru University accepts JEE Main scores, followed by the JoSAA counselling process for admission to the BTech courses. JNU Placements 2025
JNU University has a dedicated placement cell, known as the JNU Placement Cell to provide placement assistance to students. The JNU Placement cell conducts various workshops, placement camps, and trade fairs to bridge the gap between the recruiters and students.
As per the NIRF report 2025 released, a total of 30 students were placed and 327 students were selected out of total 357 students during JNU UG 3-year placements 2024. In PG 2-year programs, 188 students were placed and 1244 students were selected for higher studies out of total 1432 students during PG 2-year placements 2024. According to JNU’s School of Engineering (SOE) placement report 2023, the overall highest package (Off Campus) offered in 2023 was INR 33 LPA. The highest and average package (On-Campus) received during JNU SOE placement 2023 was INR 16 LPA and INR 11 LPA.

Jawaharlal Nehru University has state-of-the-art infrastructure which includes all the necessary amenities. The university includes classrooms, library, medical facility, labs, seminar halls, modern amenities, convocation centre, hostel, mess and others.
JNU has 18 hostels for boys and girls and one complex accommodating married students. The university gives first priority to students admitted in a full-time programmes and have passed their qualifying exam from places outside Delhi. The student must not be a resident of Delhi except those who are admitted to a level at which the student already has a degree or has pursued studies in JNU.
Students who have passed their qualifying examinations from Delhi but have stayed in recognised University/College hostels and are not resident of Delhi are also provided hostel.
Students who have passed their qualifying examinations from Delhi institutions by making their private arrangements for accommodation but at the same time do not have their family residence in Delhi can also opt for hostel.

Yes, to be eligible for JNU Advanced Diploma courses, candidates must have passed Class 12 or any equivalent examinations. Hence, Class 12 pass-outs can pursue this course. Additionally, the qualifying exam should have been passed from a rrecognized board. For document verification, the academic mark sheets and pass certificate shall be kept handy during the application form filling and admission confirmation.
Candidates seeking admission to the JNU MA course must have a BCA/Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent degree with at least 55% marks. Candidates who have passed BSc/ BCom/ BA with Mathematics at Class 12 or at Graduation level with a minimum aggregate of 55%. Apart from the minimum eligibility requirement, candidates also need to appear for the Central University Entrance Test (Postgraduate) CUET-PG entrance test.
JNU cutoff 2025 is out for admission to MA, MSc, MTech and MCA based on CUET- PG. For the General AI category, in the first round, the cutoff ranged from 27.33 and 99.33. MA in Hindi was the toughest for this category, followed by MA in Hindi Translation and MA in Sanskrit.
