The Jawaharlal Nehru University admissions are entrance based. The university considers CUET-UG and CUET-PG scores for admission with an exception for BTech and MBA. The university considers CAT and JEE Main for admission in MBA and BTech respectively. For admissions to MSc in Biotechnology and MSc in Computational Biology Programme, is through GAT-B scores. It also conducts JNUEE for admission to its PhD programme.
Given below is the admission process for JNU admissions:
- To get admission in JNU, students must meet the eligibility and selection requirement. The eligibility is to have valid scores in last qualifying exams.
- Candidates are offered admission based on the entrance exam scores.
- The shortlisted candidates have to participate in group discussions and personal interview rounds, after which a final list is released. For admission through CUET, the university will release a merit list or cutoff.
- Selected candidates have to participate in the JNU counselling for course admission (Except for MBA). During the counselling, verification and seat allotment is done.
- Selected candidates may have to go through a document verification round.

As per the JNU CSE cutoff 2026, EWS AI category candidates have to get a rank of at least 6340 in Round 5. Students with a rank lower than the one mentioned here have a better chance of admission.
