Admission to the UG and PG courses at Jawaharlal Nehru University is done through Common University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by NTA.

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is one of India's premier postgraduate and research universities. The UGC has designated it as a 'University of Excellence,' and the NAAC has awarded it an 'A' rating. According to NIRF 2022, JNU is ranked second among the top universities in India. JNU has recognised and accredited over 18 defence and research and development institutions. It consists of 13 schools, 55 centres, and seven special centres. JNU provides over 100 courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. Arts, Science, Computer Applications, Medical, Engineering, Law, Mass Communication, and Management courses are available. JNU also provides Diplomas, Advanced Diploma, and Certificate courses in a variety of languages. Admission to the UG and PG courses is done through Common University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by NTA.

1. MBA (Masters of Business Administration) 

JNU's Atal Bihari Vajpayee School of Management and Entrepreneurship provides a two-year MBA program. JNU MBA admission is based on the CAT score, which is administered by IIMs. Shortlisted candidates are then invited to participate in a PI round. The final list of candidates is based on CAT scores and interview round marks, with a weightage of 70% and 30%, respectively. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognised university, with a minimum aggregate of 50%.

Eligibility: Graduation

Candidates with a valid CAT score are eligible to apply for the JNU MBA course. Shortlisted candidates based on exam scores have to further take part in the group discussion and personal interview rounds for final selection.

Q:   Which courses of JNU are under CUET?
A:

Admission to Jawaharlal Nehru University BA (Hons) in Foreign Languages, BSc-MSc Integrated Programme in Ayurveda Biology and Certificate of Proficiencey (COP) courses is through CUET (UG). Only the aspirants with a valid score of CUET are eligible to take admission in these courses. Moreover, the application for the same has to be submitted by visiting the JNU admission portal. 

2. BA (Bachelor of Arts) Hons 

JNU's School of Language, Literature, and Culture Studies provides a three-year full-time BA (Hons) degree program. Candidates are chosen for JNU BA (Hons) courses based on their performance in the NTA-administered CUET. The University also allows for lateral entry into the second year of the BA (Hons) program. Candidates seeking admission must have completed the first year of a bachelor's degree from a recognised institute/university with a minimum of 45% aggregate (50% for BA Hons in German) and a valid CUET score. Candidates must have completed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board with a minimum of 45% overall.

Entrance Exam: CUET / JNUEE score accepted 

Available number of seats: 431

Placement: Median package offered to the students was INR 6 LPA for UG 3-year course students in 2021.

At the postgraduate level, Jawaharlal Nehru University provides a two-year full-time Master in Computer Application (MCA) program. JNU awards MCA admission based on the JNUEE score, which is followed by a viva voice. Candidates interested in applying for a two-year full-time MCA program must have a BCA/ Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or an equivalent degree with a minimum 55% aggregate or a BSc/ BCom/ BA with Mathematics at Class 12 or graduation level with a minimum 55% aggregate.

Yes, Jawaharlal Nehru University offers a two-year full-time MCA course at the postgraduate level. JNU MCA admission is completely entrance-based and depends upon candidates' performance in the CUET-PG entrance exam. For JNU MCA admission, no viva voce examination is held by the university. Apart from the CUET-PG scores, candidates are also required to meet the basic eligibility criteria set by the University.

Eligibility: Graduation with 45% and above.

4. M.A. (Master of Arts)

Jawaharlal Nehru University provides a two-year full-time M.A. program in a variety of specialisations across six schools. JNU MA admission 2022 is based on a candidate's performance in CUET-PG, which is followed by a counselling round.

Entrance Exam: JNUEE / CUET PG score accepted 

Available number of seats: 965

Eligibility: Graduation with 45% and above.

Placement: Median package offered was INR 8 LPA

5. BTech (Bachelor of Technology)

JNU's School of Engineering only provides a BTech dual-degree program with two specialisation choices. It is a five-year program with academic sessions beginning in the month of July each year. In general, the program comprises around six semesters of the undergraduate curriculum, two semesters of the postgraduate curriculum, and the final two semesters of a dissertation. JNU admission to the BTech dual-degree program is based on a candidate's JEE Main rank. The candidate's rank must be higher than the university's cutoff list. 

Entrance Exam: JEE mains score accepted 

Eligibility: 10 2 with 75% aggregate and 65% for SC/ST students.

Placement: Median package offered was INR 6 LPA

As per the information available on the official website of the university, it does not mention BA (Hons) in Economics in the Bachelor of Arts subject.
