VITREE 2026 Exam Pattern: Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has released the VITREE exam pattern 2026 for the January session exam. The exam pattern covers important details, such as exam mode, duration, marking scheme, question format and more. Candidates who have successfully registered for the VITREE exam 2026 will be eligible to appear for the paper. The VITREE Jan 2026 exam will be held online on December 7 for two hours. The VITREE 2026 question paper covers questions related to research aptitude and subject-specific questions.

The VIT VITREE 2026 offers admission to research-based programs. Selections will be made separately for PhD and Direct PhD courses. Thus, the exam pattern is also different for both courses, which are as follows -

VITREE January 2026 Exam Dates

The Vellore Institute of Technology will conduct the VITREE 2026 exam on December 7, 2025. The exam will take place in 25 cities across India. The VITREE 2026 dates are updated on the official website - admissions.vit.ac.in. Candidates had to reach the exam centre at least one hour before the exam. The invigilator will allot each candidate a computer to attempt the test. Mobile phones, calculators, text materials, or other electronic devices are prohibited. 

Candidates must carry their VITREE admit card and a pencil or pen to the exam centre. A scratch pad will be provided for rough work during the exam. The VITREE 2026 exam will take two hours; therefore, no candidate can leave the exam hall until the exam is completed.

VITREE 2026 Exam Day Instructions

Candidates appearing for the VITREE 2026 exam must know the guidelines and instructions of the conducting authority. Here is a list of VITREE exam day instructions that the applicants must follow. 

  • Candidates must arrive at the exam hall at least one hour before the examination commences, along with their admit card. They will not be permitted to the test centre after the reporting time.
  • Candidates are instructed to complete the registration process with the help of invigilators.
  • Text material, slide rulers, log tables, electronic watches, mobile phones, calculators, etc., are prohibited. 
  • Candidates are only allowed to carry a pen or pencil for rough calculations. During the examination, a scratch pad will be provided.
  • No applicants are allowed to leave the exam hall before the completion of the exam time. 
  • Candidates are requested to keep the admit card safe until the VITREE admission process is completed.
