In 2023, a total of 450 vacancies were announced for RBI Assistant exam. The highest number of vacancies were announced for Mumbai. A total of 101 vacancies were announced for this region. The selection process includes prelims and Mains exams followed by a Language Proficiency Test. The prelims exam is divided into three sections English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. The total marks to the test are 100. The total duration of the preliminary exam is 60 minutes. The Mains exam carries questions from Test of Reasoning, Test of English Language, Test of Numerical Ability, Test of General Awareness and Test of Computer Knowledge. The total marks allotted to the test are 200. The marks of the Mains exam are taken into consideration for the final merit list. Candidates qualifying the Mains exam are called for LPT. The marks obtained in the prelims exam are not counted for the final merit list. The prelims exam serves as a screening test for the mains exam.
