SSC CHSL Salary - Dearness Allowance (DA)
Dearness Allowance is provided to the central government employees to compensate for the cost of living. It is dependent on the average value of the Consumer Price Index (CPI). DA is calculated as per the formula given below.
Dearness Allowance payable with effect from 7th CPC Basic Pay = (Avg of CPI-IW for the past 12 months – Average of CPI-IW recorded in 2015)*100/(Average of CPI-IW recorded in 2015)
SSC CHSL Salary has been increased with the decision of the Government of India to increase the DA to 50% recently. It is a Central government job and the candidates joining these jobs are entitled to five days working in most cases.
SSC CHSL Salary - House Rent Allowance (HRA)
House Rent Allowance is the allowance paid for the housing facility to the employees. HRA is dependent on the geographical place of posting. The cities in India were classified into X, Y and Z categories as per the recommendations of 7th pay commission. The classification of cities were made as per the following chart.

SSC CHSL Salary - Leave Travel Concession (LTC)
The candidates are also entitled to the Leave Travel Concession (LTC) once every three years where the selected candidate is entitled to the reimbursement of train tickets purchased for travelling to any destination in India. SSC CHSL salary is revised every ten years after the recommendation of the pay commission constituted to recommend the salary structure of the Central Government Employees.
